* I know I haven't commented directly on Trump's character assassination of Khizr Khan and his wife. Frankly, it's taken this long to work out how to comment without it being a string of expletives and anatomically impossible suggestions. Look, I've never been in the military, but I've had family, friends, and lovers who were. Trump's claim that the Khans don't know anything about sacrifice because they merely lot a beloved son while Trump has known real sacrifice by being born incredibly rich and living his life in extreme luxury leaves me torn between the urge to puke and want to hit something. That' he and his surrogates and right wing conspiracy outlets like Brightbart are attacking a grieving family who son made the ultimate fucking sacrifice... I am honestly struggling to find words for my fury and disgust. Then to add insult to all this, he awarded himself a purple heart in a smug, self congratulatory manner in a speech because he's "always wanted one," crowing about how easy it is to get one. Fuck that! Seriously fuck that! You earn those medals with pain and blood and possibly loss of limb. He's never known any of that. You do not wear someone else's medals. You don't brandish them about as absolution for your deliberate cruelty to a military family. You might keep them in remembrance for your dead, but you never claim them as if you earned them just because you decide to fantasize yourself a hero for engaging incredible cruelty against people who have lost a son in war.
I... how do you even begin to address how soulless and cruel someone would have to be to do that?

* I see Trump and his son have been out victim blaming the 20+ women Roger Ailes harassed and/or psychologically and/or sexual abused. I've written before and recently about this. I repeat, I believe the women, and I don't blame them at all for the various ways they responded to being coerced and threatened with recrimination. I don't blame them for being afraid to come forward given the real world consequences of coming forward. Fuck Trump! Fuck Trump's son! You aren't feminists and putting Ivanka out there to lie that you are doesn't fix it.
* Zikka is now in the Miami area mosquito population. Sixteen are confirmed infected by bites there. Republicans still insist zikka irradiation is a waste of money as it only would prevent massive brain damage and so are foot dragging on funding. It's going to get worse and if nothing is done soon, it will be endemic.
