The media is ignoring it, being also sexist and racist and the police are refusing to comment on their racism and the choice to kill the woman instead of acting like decent human beings with a modicum of conscience would. There is no plan at all to arrest or even investigate the dangerous perpetrators involved in the crime. These dangerous thugs are still at large, armed and dangerous.

They are, of course, only mentioning veterans and cancer survivors in the coverage, but I’m sure we are all thinking of another obvious application.
* No, news media. When you let the debate over rest rooms be framed as the North Carolina law "prevents men from using the women's room," you are NOT being neutral. You are taking a side. You are siding with the transphobes. you are agreeing that transfolk don't exist.
What their law actually does is REQUIRE Men to use the women's room and forces a particularly vulnerable population of women to use the Men's Room knowing full well the history of violence and assault aimed at the women in our community and the ongoing threat to their safety. Media, when you let the transphobes set the terms of debate, you are cosigning their call to out our women and children and are endorsing the resulting violence against them. You are COMPLICIT in all the violence.
Please, news media, correctly gender us in all news items whether about bathroom discrimination or our obituaries after we are murdered.

* Tiny Terror (Tavy) has been seriously stressing out LM this week. I'm having to get more aggressive about his social training for her well being. He's on his third time out since 11PM. I hate having to do it. To be fair the time out is in Squirrel's room. He has litter, water, and food, plus plenty of places he voluntarily likes to hang out. I am not a monster. Still, I hate doing it, but I will not punish her because he's not learning social boundaries fast enough, and she just wanted a pet and a nap on her spot on the sofa, Poor Thing. The irony is not lost on me that she used to be even worse with Hector when she was young and aggressive, but still it is pitiful watching her.
* In other news, Squirrel is back to work tonight for the first time. He's lost most of two month's pay, so is seriously fucked for money which means we are both fucked on things like the electrical bill, but he didn't die, which is a thing that could easily have happened, so we're calling it a win.
