* Wednesday morning, after I'd settled in to prepare for sleep, Tavy jumped up on my bed, checked out a few napping positions, then wandered off. He did something similar with the cat cave the night before he started napping there so I’ve hopes of him sleeping in bed with me soon. He definitely has decided I am his primary human and Squirrel the back up, but he's fairly geographical integrated, moving freely in and out of squirrel's room and napping under his bed of an afternoon. He really likes being held and I wish I could afford a baby bjorn to try him in.
He had a small scare Wednesday afternoon. I had to stop back home with MrBumblepants after forage before taking him home for logistical reasons. he poked his head out to see if it was me, and spotted MrBumblepants instead. stranger! Panic! He hid and didn't come out all evening, but that was his usual post scamper nap time. My suspicion was he fell asleep in his hide, so was not alarmed. I told Squirrel I'd start warring if he wasn't out by 1:30AM, but i refused to panic before then. I spotted him chilling on my bed at 11:30. By 11:40 we were playing spider, so it's all good.
At bedtime, I convinced LM to hang out in the bed for a short pettin and a nap. Tavy turned up, gave her a good sniffing, which she tolerated even though their current hiss radius is usually in the 2-3 feet range atm, and he started trying out mesting spots, so I had hopes of peaceable kingdom. Premature hopes, alas, as he proceeded to try to eat my feet. I grabbed the bag of pompoms I keep by my bed out of habit because sometimes Hector needed them before he really started to get sick, and lobbed one his way. He thought this was maybe the best thing ever and had a great time with those, but all the excitement disturbed poor LM, so she glared and growled a bit before stalking off. Eventually I wore him out and he left too. Squirrel reports he turned up by his pillow to stare when Squirrel was bedding down a bit later, but didn't stay. So he's still not ready for bed cuddles, but I do think it'll be soon.
