* Cat update: Tavy had rather a set back after the loud kitchen accident and spent most of the next day and a half in what was Hector's secure bunker. He's now reloccated to Mache's old favorite hide, which is less secure and has good access to a hide from which he can watch me type and make forays into the kitchen etc.. He was feeling bold enough last night to bat his mouse about a bit in my room and to engage in a pissing contest with LM in the office litter box. LM remains very interested and excited by the presence of a strange cat, though they aren't interacting yet. Instead, they carefully alternate forays into common areas. She has been going into my room and just hanging out near the door, the better to sniff him and make sure he knows she has a right to be in there, but she never goes near his hides. He has started coming out to stare at me, when he thinks I won't notice him. So fingers crossed.
* I'm still generally ick and low spooned, and my sleep cycle is a mess. I dragged myself out today anyway, as I had a list of small stupid errands. Tavy is now a legal cat in residence. I picked up the soup flat I ordered early in the month. I went to the library. That sort of thing. It wore me out and having to do it on a day when there was way to much traffic, very little parking, and pedestrians were especially in the way of my walking and prone to behaving erratically in front of cars. (Darting out into the street from between parked cars mid block without warning or noticing that there were cars driving there, randomly swerving out of the middle of a crosswalk into traffic to stop a car to talk to the occupants oblivious to the screeching breaks of the cars crossing the intersection, etc.) I've mostly been eating canned emergency soup as it's hard to get it together even to make pasta. Still, one must persevere. I'm trying not to panic about the property tax money which I have no expectation of being able to raise by late April.
