* 38-40 are dead in our bombing of a Daesh base in Libya near the Tunisian border, with what sounds like UK and possibly Italian support.
* I do not have the emotional energy to write about events in Malawi, Uganda, Turkey, and Syria, but it's all distressing and bears watching.

* I've had this lung infection a little over a week and I expect I'll soon be sick enough to convince a doctor to medicate it. Just a warning that added to Hector's death and my obligations the next two weeks, I may be flaky and or exhausted all the time. Posting quality will likely vary.
* LM is not dealing well with things, so we are giving her lots of reassurance. A lot of it is, she is not sure what the household dynamic is without Hector and also she relied on him to signal when things like goosh or treats were likely. I'm working on building in special comfort routines for her and trying to reinforce the idea that she's allowed to be all the places she is likely to go. (She's an elderly, over weight cat who does not like jumping, so isn't apt to do things like assault the stove or food prep counter). She's getting lots and lots of cuddles both from me and her personal human. We both think she would do better with another cat around, and we certainly would like another 1-3. There is a rescue cat with all his shots, neutering, etc. waiting for us in Eugene, but he needs transport North to us. Seriously, if you know anyone going that way contact me. I don't trust my car for distance, but if you're coming Northish up the I-5 corridor, we might be able to work something out.
