gwydion* The man expected to me Republican Speaker of the house was out bragging that they wasted 4 million of tax payer dollars on a partisan witch hunt against Hilary Clinton in the hopes that their pretense that there is a Benghazi scandal will sink her poll numbers. That was the sole purpose of all this nonsense and waste of money: to stop her being president. Imagine if we spent that tax payer money on things that were good for the country like fixing bridges or hardening tech infrastructure instead of blowing it on Republican petty vendettas because Republican politicians as a group are as deeply fiscally irresponsible as they are spiteful.
* My lungs were as clear as they've been last March so I let them flu shot me during today's doctor appointment. I hate leaving it so late, but the pathogens haven't allowed. I started out the day exhausted and was too wiped to decide on an make anything proper to eat. I am eating plain matzos right now in the hopes if I eat something I'll be able to... oh! Soup! I could heat up soup! Duh! I'll try that after a rest. Flu shot means I'll be a functionally level of crappy the next 1-2 weeks depending. Why do I do it, knowing my system can barely cope with vaccine? Because I will happily trade 1-2 weeks of crappy but functional for 1-2 months of horribly ill with a risk of hospitalization and/or death, possibly twice in the course of six months. Odds are there will be enough mutation that I will catch a virus towards the end of flue season, but partial immunity means about a month of functional crappy rather than that 1-2 months of horror with a risk of hospitalization and/or death. Vaccines are our friends, slightly jerky for someone as medically fragile than I am, but so much better than the murderous pathogens they protect us from. I'm meant to be getting another lung one that had been juvenile recommended, but is now geriatric and lung patient recommended. The Doctor is going to get pre-auth and I'll be trekking to a fancier pharmacy for it assuming it clears once I recover from this one.
Oh, and vaccinate your damned kids! It saves lives literally, and in the measles vaccine case, you are protecting your child not just from the disease itself which can land your child in ICU if you are unlucky, but will disrupt their immune system for years after leaving zim prone to more infections. Your child will be happier and healthier and you won't be responsible for murdering a baby or a cancer patient etc. in your area. And have you seen what polio does? I have. My sister's BFF's mother had it and why would you put your child through that on purpose.
Anyway. I have made a start on the next Black Sails write up, but no guarantee on how long it will take for obvious reasons.
