gwydion* A suicide bomber killed 32 Kurds in Turkey. The PKK responded by murdering two Turkish policemen. Turkey then retaliated by bombing both IS and Kurdish positions in Syria. There are serious worries for Turkey's stability. My best wishes to Peace Demonstrators and the Turkish Left generally.
* The Anti-defamation League has condemned Mike Huckabee for comparing President Obama to Hitler for the deal with Iran, saying depriving Iran of the means to make nuclear weapons is the equivalent of "marching the Israelis to the door of the oven. While this is above average explicit, a variety of mainstream and FOX pundits are making the same comparison and they have spent the last seven years insisting that he is also exactly like Hitler for daring to give millions of working Americans access to health care, which gives an idea of how fundamentally perverse the Republican understanding of history is. This is what the republican mainstream looks like now.

Remember that if you’ve worked at all, you’ve already paid in for Medicare and you deserve to get the benefits back, just as if you pay in for insurance it is only fair that the company pays out when you have a claim. Medicare, like unemployment insurance is something you’ve already paid for not some gift you didn’t earn. You deserve to get your money’s worth.
