* Boko Haram forced two girls, one of them only ten, to do a suicide bombing. The second bomb hit first responders trying to rescue those injured in the first attack.

* The French are mobilizing troops to protect civilians, including 700 or so Jewish schools. The UK is on heightened alert.

* This week, House Republicans voted to hold Social Security for disabled folk hostage, threatening to cut funds for 11 million people, many of them veterans, while they tried to pass a package of Wallstreet give aways with seven bills cutting financial regulations presumably in hopes of ensuring yet another financial crisis, as that worked out really well for the 1% and to reward the people who crashed the world economy under Bush. They also passed a rules change to Obamacare to strip everyone not working 40 hours a week of employer health insurance in hopes of increasing the deficit by 50 billion dollars and will deprive a huge number of working Americans of health care. Republican class warfare against the 99% continues apace.

* Mitt Romney's threatening to run again.

* Glee 6.1-2 Loser Like Me/Homecoming:

1. I think this is another data point on my theory about Warbler choreography being symbolic. If you'll remember, season two Dalton choreography was a loot of small movements, like birds on perches. Caged birds singing. Sebastian Era Warblers moved like a pack of wolves, predatory, sexually threatening, prone to surround and stalk. Season six Warblers choreography is open and exhuberant, but non threatening, full of flying back flips and the like.

2. I subscribe to rm's redeeming Lima theory and I think this episode supports that theory.

3. I wrote a lot last year about how much both Kurt and Blaine need to work on their communication and negotiation skills. I'm cool with the break up forcing them to do that. There is a massive list of things both of them have done that show they needed to do a lot of learning and growing. I'm excited to watch tat process.

4. I know Karfsky is not end game and he's way more invested than Blaine. Still, it is really satisfying to see him grown into a man and happy. It is comforting to see that Dave Karofsky is okay and he's going to be okay, future heart break or no.

5. I still believe Klaine is end game. I love that Glee is showing the relationship work that real couples of whatever orientation have to do. A fully fleshed out, complicated relationship with both people growing and changing is something TV generally only lets straight couples have. I really like that kids now have a chance to see a gay couple treated this way on TV and know it's okay that it's a learning process, that they too have permission to make mistakes and learn from them.

6. I know no one else on the planet feels like this but me, but I wanted to see the Dalton/Warbler gender integration plot. This is one of the only things on a High School based show that actually speaks to my experience of going to an all boy's school in the process of gender integrating. (I was in the kindergarten class the first year their were girls: 4 in K, 2 in 1st grade, and 1 in second. Each year they moved the integration forward one class and added a few more girls to each class. They ended up keeping the HS a capella group single sex and simply making a second equal group for girls). Again, I totally get that I'm the only one who wanted to see that story line, but it really bummed me out when she switched sides, even though it will complicate and intensify the Klaine drama. I know that is better TV.

7. That girl can sing!

8. I loved them getting the gang back together.

9. I still want to see Blaine's family context.
