gwydion* Gov. LaPaige is in such a pants wetting panic over the Medical Worker posing zero threat to public health that he has started threatening mob violence if she doesn't submit to him arbitrarily abridging her human rights for no good reason. Seriously, given his willful ignorance, incompetence, and cowardice, why is he in charge of a state?
* Gov. Bobby Jindal is taking strong action to make the ebola threat worse by trying to bar a tropical disease conference from occurring, presumably because he is such a massive coward that he imagines people talking about how to cure ebola in his state will pose some sort of threat to him. If he is so terrified of getting ebola, I suggest that he not personally attend the conference for the purpose of individually handling all the attendees feces without gloves, because that's pretty much the only way he is going to catch it from them. It seems to me much simpler for him to personally resolve not to root around in full toilets until the conference is over. Of course, I'd suggest that anyway, but that's just me.
* Why am I starting to get nasty about the pointless panic about ebola? Because it is robbing people of their educations, their liberty, etc. and is threatening to disrupt the effort to literally save lives of people who really are in danger of dying in the three countries effected. I get that pretending to be scared and spreading lies about ebola is good for ratings and scores political points for irrational people, but there has been plenty of time for people to look this shit up. Case in point: Bill Deblasio educated himself and put a team together to prepare his city so that things went super smooth when the nigh inevitable happened. There is zero excuse after the clusterfucks in Dallas and Madrid for Governors and Mayors to not have looked at that and figured out they need to learn the basics and put a plan together. Hell, if Cuomo was so paralyzed by his ignorance and panic he couldn't use google, he could have just called the Mayor of NYC.
So yes, there is zero excuse for the five governors I've been mocking and I will keep dialing up the snark as long as this bullshit continues.
Same goes with the folks in actual educational institutions who are pretending they have no access to maps of Africa, because I have a hard time believing that Colleges and public schools don't contain a single map or globe and that no one working there has access to he Internet. If it is truly the case that they have no ability to check on what countries are where we have a serious problem and someone needs to look into the education those schools are providing.
