gwydion* Some people in Sierra Leone have started shunning ebola orphans even though they don't have the disease, much as has been happening with hysterical parents in Dallas demanding the names of the children that were potentially exposed even though there is no chance they infected other children even if they had it.
* A Spanish nurse has contracted ebola while treating a missionary they shipped home for treatment.
* They are trying a new experimental antiviral drug on the gentleman in Dallas, who's condition is bad and getting worse.
* They have transferred the photo journalist to bio containment in Nebraska.
* I am not a Christian, but I have huge respect for Judge Clay Jenkins for acting out of both reason and compassion and using his church ties to make things better instead of worse for the family exposed to ebola. He's shown through actions as well as words a great deal of calm and decency. I'm not from Dallas, and don't know anything about his rulings or politics, so I have no opinion about him as a judge, but I appreciate him taking responsibility for fuck ups and going above and beyond to try to make things right.
To be honest, the hysterical media sources demonizing him for acting calmly and rationally based on actual science make me want to hit people, and the calls to round people up and euthanize them are a fuck of a lot scarier than ebola.
