* Marco Rubio has been out bragging that he loves the poor so much he is denying them a raise in the minimum wage and is voting to render the unemployed homeless as a way to "improve their lives." If being homeless and having nothing to eat is such an improvement over being housed and fed, how come Mr. Rubio is well fed and living in a house? Shouldn't he opt out of his government handout for being in the laziest Congress in the history of the United States and move into a refrigerator box in the Middle of Winter? If it's such an improvement, why isn't he living the way he wants the rest of us to?

* Given recent events, I am reiterating my policy on outing. It is never okay to out people, yes including celebrities, unless it is a public figure actively working to deny LGBTQA folks their human and/or civil rights. In the case of a virulently anti-gay politician, preacher, pundit, etc., their hypocrisy has bearing on their message. In the case of public figures who are not actively trying to harm their own community, it is none of our business unless they choose to come out publicly. Yes, even if the celebrity is hot. While I do take note of rumors when they cross my bow so I can figure out what the hell people are talking about, I chose not to discuss their particulars in this space. I always am happy for folks who are in a place where they feel safe coming out and it is important and helpful particularly to the youth of our community to see out adults they can admire. However, I do not think LGBTQA celebrities OWE us a public statement about their truth. Everyone should have a right to a private life. Yes, even if they are hot.
* Police have caught yet another white straight cis U S born male terrorist. This one had forty eight bombs, a remote detonator, and some illegal guns. Him not being a Muslim, you likely haven't heard about it in the news. This is no surprise to me, as an ethics course I took in High school did an excellent job of comparing ethics across a variety of religions and non-religious philosophical traditions, but it's a good reminder in the context of the current Christian attempt to render women in this country mere incubators with no civil or human rights.

* Hector wants you all to know he hates everything about the move: the packing, the changing dens, and the unpacking. "Haaaatessss it, my Precioussss!" Except the epic bed. Oh my god, the bed! It's like someone designed it specifically for him, with his mesting preferences in mind.
Little Miss does not particularly like the Senior Beasties nor they her, but she is finding it disturbing that they aren't in evidence. She has started searching for them. She was meant to go across when Hector did, but was holed up in Squirrel's room when I went to crate her, so I'm taking her in the morning.
