* The super typhoon that has been so devastating to the Philippines is yet another example of what weather is like as climate change accelerates:
* It's sounding like nothing was concluded in the talks with Iran, but they are meeting again later in the month. I'm not holding my breath.
* Is it just me or does "Morgan Jones"'s made up story about how he single handedly stormed the embassy at Benghazi to fight El Quaeda sound exactly like "The Red Rascal" on Doonesbury?
* In related news, Lindsey Graham has only released two hostages of all those appointees he's refusing to let fill important posts on the strength of "Morgan Jones"' lies, even though he claimed the only reason he was holding them up was his belief in the false testimony. Because reasons.
* Republicans continue to argue that the cost of 2.1 million per year per soldier in Afghanistan is a reasonable expense but feeding those soldier's families while they are away or the veterans when they get home is a waste of money better spent on corporate welfare to line congressional pockets. This is because Republicans believe military veterans are "takers" and lazy while millionaires should be rewarded for the hard work of being born rich as should the richest corporations and Congress people. Because reasons.
They call this "supporting the troops."
