gwydion* (TW: Rape) Four men have been sentenced to the death penalty for raping a student to death in Delhi. A Juvenile offender has been sentenced to three years. This is the maximum sentence for raping a woman to death while a juvenile under Indian law.
* They have ordered the evacuation of parts of Boulder. Two years of climate change related drought have caused burn scars and made it hard for the soil to quickly absorb water when the rains do come. They ar counting the dead and unaccounted for. Whole houses have been swept away. People have lost everything.
* 44% of Americans agree with Republicans that we need to tank the US Economy and destroy our financial system in ten days. This is why we need to properly fund the Public School system.

* The girls are starting to recover from their adventure. Two sleeps ago, Mache opted to resume hanging out after bedtime treats for a very long pet, then slept with us until Hector started his sleep stealing antics, as is her custom. Last night, LM sat on my desk for a really long ear scritch and has started normal levels of attention demands. We aren't to completely normal for the clowder yet, but we're getting there. Today we had to lock the Beasties up for a half hour maintenance visit. Hector escaped when I went to let him in, but sensibly hid under my desk for the procedure. LM was locked in with Squirrel. Mache, sensibly curled up on the bed for pettins for the duration of her imprisonment. She figured out a long time ago the one to one correlation between me imprisoning cats in my bedroom and strange men in heavy work boots tramping around and banging on things and rather prefers to be locked up where there is no chance of being stepped on or eaten. Mache is pretty fucking bright for an animal with the brain the size of a walnut.
* I think I figured out the throat thing, luckily without having to take most of the narcotics I was supposed to. I've been running a test most of this week and I think it's mostly sorted. I'm still not recovered from last week physically, though there is improvement.

There actually are ruins such as abandoned amusement parks and empty houses. Go ahead google image "NOLA abandoned Amusement park" or "Detroit." No really. It takes seconds.
