* The free Syrian rebels have rejected Assad turning in his chemical weapons and continuing to go free, calling for a UN war crimes trial.

* A section of Argentina was burning out of control when I went to bed last night.

* Seaside Park, one of the worse hit sections of the New Jersey Shore from last year, was burning out of control at dinnertime.

* Every year, my longing for the Ocean goes stronger. Another Autumn comes, with my skin itching for salt water, my ankles desiring for the tug of tides, the bottoms of my feet pining for the shift of sand beneath them. I long to hold my breath and let a big wave take me, swirling madly toward the sure, trusting my breath will hold until I surface.

Seaside was where newroticgirl used to go as a child. The last several years have been very hard on her home.

Last year, right after Sandy, John Stewart said something like, "I just spent the last week watching everything I loved as a child being destroyed." I think a lot of us feel that way. Most of my memories were Brigatine, Ocean city, and Wildwood, but I've been to Seaside and Cape May.
