* Re: Coins from Medieval Tanzania found in Australia. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they are from trade or a shipwreck, since 19th and 20th Century Western historians have pretty consistently underestimated the amount of trade between Africa and pretty much all of South Asia. It wouldn't have taken that much for off course trading ships to have discovered Australia accidentally and if it proved worth while, some trading could have occurred. However, as likely as I think it is that this happened, there needs to be more proof to consider it fact. I'm seeing quite a bit of journalism running ahead of the archeology. I think this is an exciting prospect and I'd love to see a systematic investigation of likely areas of contact for more evidence.
