People criticised Seanan Mguire's series as too gay?

I've read October Day. The main character is straight. When her side characters came out they faded into obscurity and became much less prominent. Another lesbians/bisexual women were revealed as such AFTER she died (frankly, I think it was a blatant retcon)

Straight sexuality with Toby/Tybalt and Toby/Connor is front and centre and the constant dominant themes consuming the books. Lesbian and bisexual sexuality is a footnote, background and retcon around the edges

This is why I always laugh when people uphold a pretty damn strong heterosexist series as some kind of paragon of GBLT inclusion

The subtext is that any LGBT characters in the story is OMG too gay. To be fair, in Velveteen the lesbian couple are pretty prominent and there's actual trans representation, but I'm with you on the October Daye series being pretty damn straight.
