* A second trade union has joined the protests in Turkey, along with a variety of other groups including gay rights organizations. The deputy prime minister is meeting with the environmentalist group that started the protests. Demands include the mayor who ordered police violence resigning, an end to tear gassing protesters, releasing protesters, and them not ripping up the park. Given the diversity of groups in the protests, it's hard to pin down one specific cause they are protesting for.
