* It turns out Israel has been giving women of Ethiopian descent shoots of the contraceptive Depo-Provera often without their knowledge or after coercion. This has led to a fifty percent drop in the birthrate among that community. They just finally agreed to stop. I have no words to describe how I feel about the Israelis engaging in this sort of ethnic cleansing.

* Most of the Internet is a Troll den. I know this and except it. It always amazes me just ho much the BPAL Forum is the opposite. I was reminded of that today, when I saw someone had posted in the TMI thread about mental health issues they were hiding from their family. Not one asshole showed up. Instead it was a long chain of love and support, with people coming forward with their own stories as part of the encouragement. This sort of thing is the Internet at it's best, I think, a reminder that it's not all Reddit and you Tube Comment bigotry.
* Seriously, folks. We need Universal Health Care with Mental health parity. We need to stop stigmatizing problems with the brain and start looking on them as health issues. If someone is hit by a car do we shame them for wearing a cast? No. So lets stop acting like there's some moral component to having Depression and the like.
