Dec. 27th, 2012 01:57 am* They are protesting the new Constitution in Cairo, claiming Morsey fixed the election. Others are pointing out that less than a fifth of eligible voters voted for the Constitution. The issue is the Constitution doesn't sufficiently protect the rights of women or religious minorities.
* Jack Klugman turns out to have been more amazing than I thought, "Jack Klugman’s secret, lifesaving legacy:" http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2012/12/25/jack-klugmans-secret-lifesaving-legacy/

* Doctor Who the Snowmen:
Wait, Sir Ian McClellan and Richard Grant are in this? Glorious! I love this great detective and her Jenny. The Sontaran was a little too comic relief and not enough character. I think I'm going to take to Clara. This is very Moffat. He's good at finding an image that sticks in the head and atmosphere, not so good at execution and inclusion. I had a little trouble following this despite it's prettiness, though that could be all the howling. Still, I rather liked the women in this even if it didn't entirely gel or make sense. I find the romance element annoying, but I always do.
* I resisted Boardwalk Empire. For sure I'm fond of Steve Buscemi and Kelly Macdonald's work and I like period stuff, but I really dislike organized crime genre things as they tend to be cliche. Then I discovered that the ridiculously talented Michael Kenneth Williams was in thereo to and I could resist no longer. The acting's lovely and the plot's prett interesting, but honestly, I more fascinated by the beautiful sets and the fablulous costuming. Seriously, I get to starting at the menswear and the lady's hat and forget to listen to the dialog. *facepalm*
