* Eighteen people are dead in New York. Three hospitals had to switch to generators, and one eventually lost power entirely. They had to evacuate people down stairwells in the dark, poor bastards. About sixty are dead in the Caribbean. 23 are dead in New Jersey at last tally. A couple thousand are trapped in Hoboken, some with little or no food and water. 80-120 homes burned in one town, many of them belonging to first responders who are still out doing rescues. Sections of boardwalk are gone, large sections of several towns are still under water. Some sections are electrified from downed powerlines in the water. It's snowing in West Virginia and environs where the power is out from the storm. Don't worry, Republicans are working hard to abolish FEMA and return disaster relief to the already starved for cash state governments. They are ngso blocking anything the would slow climate change and fighting to deregulate industry, pretty much ensuring that this will be the new normal.

It looks like it’s part of a larger pattern of her hating trans folk.

* Last night I sorted out the bedroom furniture and went to bed very early. (It turned out to be way more complicated than I thought for reasons having to do with an)gles and leverage. The furniture fits perfectly though. I still need to do some minor reshuffling, but it can wait until after Con. Today I spent all afternoon running around doing bureaucracy and last minute errands. I carved my pumpkin and changed the fish. The pain is still pretty terrible, which bodes ill for the trip.
