* There is understandable worry that Spain's bonds are about to be reduced to junk in the Moody's rating. Catalonia is talking about seceding. Germany continues to stand firm against any reasonable attempt to help them.

* It turns out that Paul Ryan substantially agrees with Mitt Romney in his contempt for the American people, but only personally hates 30% instead of the 47$% that Mitt Romney hates and doesn't care about. He accuses 70% of Americans of being "takers." He says, "30% of Americans do not want the American dream.

* It seems to me that instead of vilifying the working poor, veterans, the disabled, Active duty military, an Senior citizens, all of whom either are currently contributing or have contributed to the economy and well being of the country, the real "takers" are folks like Mitt Romney who contribute nothing of value but live like leaches on society, sucking money out and refusing to pay their share in exchange for all the privileges they have. Just saying.

* Meta Moment: As many of you likely know, Washington State has our marriage equality law up for vote in November. I've been watching the development of the Equality ad campaign with some fascination. The first ad is parents talking about wanting their LGB children to have the same treatment and opportunities as their straight ones. Next they added a real tear jerker with people separated from their partners during a medical crisis by horrible and judgmental hospital staff. I thought that was pretty clever, first engage the parental instinct at second hand, then get people imagining being locked out of the hospital room when their spouse is critically ill or dying. I just saw the third ad in the series tonight. It's gorgeous and wickedly clever. They have recruited a racially and religiously diverse group of clergy making a religious freedom argument for equality. They have a friar in there! Dude! It directly goes after the lie that allowing civil marriage Quill force churches that don't want to do it to do it.

I've been wanting an ad that made this argument for years, because those of us having the equality conversation with real opponents in the wild have been having to educate people that it is a lie. No one serious is trying to force churches and synagogues to marry people they don't want to marry. Similarly, I honestly do not see why letting Reformed Rabbis marry same sex couples in anyway infringes on the religious freedom of the Orthodox Rabbis not to, or why the Mormons should get to dictate who the Unitarians can and can not marriage which looks like an actual infringement of religious liberty to me. Anyway, I love this ad campaign and salute the clever folks designing it.

* I do not know how I'd have managed without Greenwick. Everything got cleaned, the pictures got hung, We even put up a bunch of Halloween decorations. (I feel so much better with the pictures up.) The car is now full of stuff I need to take to storage and Good Will. We evacuated the cats out the back for minimum effort and exposure. The wrangling went super fast, as they didn't see me take down the carriers. I caught the Butt alone and snatched him before he knew what hit him. LM saw Squirrel and I doing the flanking maneuver we do when we come to give her flea meds, but she couldn't make good cover in time and Squirrel got her. Mache's having the same arthritis trouble I am so by the time she'd hauled herself to her feet and taken a few steps, I was on her. She didn't put up a proper struggle until she saw the carrier, likely thinking it was just flea meds, which she doesn't much like, but mostly tolerates. Poor Hector ashed about, first in terror that we were coming for him, then with dawning horror on his face as the others got evacuated. He was already stressed what with things being put into boxes looks a lot like moving to him, I'm pretty sure he was scared the clowder was moving without him. He was loud, unpleasant, and clingy all night, but was at least eating. I went to bed early, what with being exhausted and in an astonishing amount of pain. I slept in my clothes, on the grounds that the Inspection window was 9AM - Noon. This was a wise choice. Hector did some of his best top volume howling at bed time, but once I got him to bed he was fine.

Due to a communication glitch, the landlord turned up about fifteen minutes after the inspector left, so my instinct she'd come on inspection was correct, even though we escaped her eagle eye this time. (She complimented my front door decorations, which was a relief, as the complex is strict about outdoor furniture/decorations). We and the landlord passed, though next time, I really need to declutter my desk and the kitchen counters a little more. Also, next time, I need to move either the small bookshelf or my desk. There simply wasn't time and energy thanks to the great fish catastrophe stealing time and spoons. On the upside, aside from the narrowing between desk and shelf, he said the common area set up was logical. I hate this whole not having privacy thing. I hate having a stranger in. I hate how crappy I feel from over stressing my joints and borrowing spoons. I did manage to get more sleep, and I did a really slow getting ready to leave my room, with lots of resting and washing TV. Hector started flipping out again. Oh the rejoicing when the clowder came home. Oh the paroling! Oh the mutual sniffing! Oh the reclaiming of spots! Hector calmed right down too.

On an unrelated down note. They are dramatically increasing my rent. Sigh. And I'd just managed to get ahead. Tomorrow is a huge errand day. Let's hope I've recovered enough to handle it.

* It turns out the super long hold up on what should have been a simple estate to settle turns out to be massive layoffs of government workers in Harrisburg. I just hope it settles in this tax year so I take all the hits at once.

* Obviously, I was off internet and mostly away from the news yesterday, and am not really in a position to catch up tonight, so I'm super behind on the Internet, and likely will be to Sundayish.

* I skipped the big Gay potluck as I was finding feeding myself enough of a challenge without trying to make food for it and go be charming.
