Sep. 15th, 2012 08:23 pm* The walls of the US Embassy in Tunisia were breached and several people were wounded or died. It looks like President Mursi is finally trying to stop the Embassy attacks and has started clearing out protesters.
* The most complex and interesting discussion I’ve seen so far of the Crisis in the Middle east happened on the first half of Saturday morning “Up with Chris Hayes.” What I particularly liked was the early segments where they talked about the different particular circumstances in each country: why the protests in Yemen are different from the ones in Egypt, for example. I’m not linking all of it, but I will give you an interview with a woman correspondent in Egypt, as it’s not much like what I’m picking up elsewhere.:
* Mona Eltahawy speaks in a beautiful and impassioned way about protest, free speech, and the transition to Democracy in Egypt:
* A Judge temporarily thwarts Voter Suppression in Iowa:
* Looks like the main Birther site is switching from "Obama is a secret Muslim born in Kenya" to pretending the President is gay. Sigh:
* The Latest on Pennsylvania voter suppression:
* Thanks to them making me dig up my garden and move it inside. Nearly everything died, with the exception of one lily plant and the purples, which are lovely, but I lost all those flowers and tomato plants. There's some hope for bulbs next year, but nearly all the money and effort was wasted. The lily is gorgeous, btw, but smells like burning plastic, which is rather distracting.
* Remember how a while back I said sometimes the colour blocking makes sense, but a lot of the time it looks like they are just randomly colour blocking for the sake of colour blocking? * BTW, the Marc Jacobs Collection appears to be deliberately and aggressively ugly yet again for no apparent reason.
