I keep thinking about the Tuskegee experiment and the WWII Era Japanese yersina pestis attack/experiments in Ningbo. White people in my country and abroad were going to actively harm babies in Africa on the large scale to find out things we already know. The Racism, the imperialism, the sheer lack of ethics or empathy... I have no words, but I am furious.

* I am making little bits of progress. The physio is clearly correct as it is the right sort of unpleasant and some of the pain has migrated to other body parts. Monday, I started the sort in advance of putting the shelves of the tall desk back together. (Physical shelves not taken apart, but emptied. The things normally on them need to go where they go.)
Tuesday, I ran out for lettuce, spinach, and tomato from the overpriced nearby grocery. Somehow there was a traffic jab which made it take three times the normal amount to go like a mile and a half. I was so tired, I got the greens, but not the tomatoes. I had enough tomato to make dinner and not lettuce, so it was the better one to forget. Add one new extra errand to the Wednesday physio trip. Sigh. Then I got home and nearly everything fell from the low table behind my desk. Boxes spilled. Squirrel's whole egress from their room blocked.
Really I should have started right away, but if I ate something I could take my arthritis meds. I started dinner and ate a little salad for the meds and then cleared more stuff off the low table, because it's been on the to do list for a yearish for a reason. People jammed a bunch of random stuff on there along with the stuff that goes there for assorted inspections and emergencies, including the Great HOA Contractor siege an d the Great Living Room Migration, which was why it was unstable in the first place. It's supposed to have several storage boxes I need frequent access to and things I need when I go out like the messenger bag, emergency go bag, and things headed to the car like shopping bags and returning library books on it.
I have found yet more high level face masks I could have sworn I had, but hadn't seen in two years. Seriously, I kept running out of face masks and not being able to find the ones I knew I bought. During the City Contractor thing I discovered the really good masks had been hidden out of my reach where I could not see them. (I know who put them there. Sigh.) Apparently the container of my second best masks has been destablizing the things on the low table for probably a year and a half, which is not where they go and not where I'd think to look for them. This I know was not malicious as they disappeared right before an inspection and it does make sense from a people helping me tidy ahead of a short notice invasion o my apartment perspective. I'd have found them long before this if we hadn't basically under siege here mostly from management, but also from my body for the past two years.
Good News on Squirrel's arm! They paid out of pocket for a real doctor instead of the asshole didn't listen or investigate properly one their work sent them too, but the specialist did a real examination and tests and proper scans. It is definitely work related and being forced to do all that lifting was in fact deteriorating it at an alarming rate.
They are likely getting everything covered by health insurance after all including initial specialist visit and scans. They are likely getting back pay. They are definitely getting at least ten days off to rest the arm with associated time off pay, though that and the back pay may be delayed so bills are dicey this month. They are allowed to lift zero pounds with the arm until Doctor says so. (I am taking small amounts of recycling out on the dolly every time I leave the house. My shoulder hurts the way it did two years before replacement, so I can't lift much either.) They have one super gentler physio to work on this week and there will be more workman's comp covered physio later.
I am massively relieved because the deterioration was so fast and aggressive and Work's plan was to keep making them injure it more over and over every shift until they were too disabled to work any more.
* Wednesday was physio. I made it to the car on time and out onto the highway. The sky was the wrong colour again. It was raining, but it looked like a dead tropical fish, not normal rain clouds. I learned later the air quality was really bad, which is a weird combination with rain, especially here. This would explain why my breathing wasn't quite up to snuff.
Physio went fine. Seven total exercises now, two are upgrades of ones I did last week. One of the new ones my fake shoulder noped out of, but we were mostly done anyway. I ended up going through town for the tomatoes instead of going up an exit as planned because that looked like the best option when I saw the on ramp line. I wish I'd brought my library books. sigh. So that's now on Thursday's to do.
Livia flagged me down when I got home and lured me back to bed for Livia Love time. He mental state continues to worry me, but I got her to play a bit yesterday. She's been refusing her favorite feather toy, but I retrieved Tavy's special toy, the one Art and Techie Millennial got for him a month or two before his big decline. (Livia's special feather toy was just for her. It is fair). We picked this one with a feather boa/wiggle worm sort of situation as long as him. It was very to his taste. Good for Chasing and Wrasselling. He absolutely adored it for the brief time he had it. We were keeping it where cats wouldn't get it between plays like we do with Livia's special toy. It had been there since the last time he was well enough to chase it. I got it down and got her to do catch and maul, which is as good as it gets since the day before Tavy died. He and I had a pet and watched her chase the feather toy all over the bed. Just getting her to bat at it is hard now. She had a good long play, even if I couldn't get her to chase it.
I am worried about her. She's getting more reclusive again and has stopped sitting on the pettin throne by my desk for pets this week. January is car tax and February is housing levy. Housing went up this year and they are threatening us with another "Special assessment," though we've no idea when or how much. We really need to get her kitten(s) for mental health reasons, but I don't see how I can save anything close to enough any time soon, so I keep doing what I can to comfort her.
New Millennial's been taking good care of me. For physio nights they prep a lasagna the night before with ingredients I supply. I preheat the oven. When get here they pop dinner in the oven and make a little salad so I can have my meds and to tide me over. Rest, food, and meds help. I have my tiger balm and heating pads. I am managing okay. I just need to lie down a lot.

* I am making little bits of progress. The physio is clearly correct as it is the right sort of unpleasant and some of the pain has migrated to other body parts. Monday, I started the sort in advance of putting the shelves of the tall desk back together. (Physical shelves not taken apart, but emptied. The things normally on them need to go where they go.)
Tuesday, I ran out for lettuce, spinach, and tomato from the overpriced nearby grocery. Somehow there was a traffic jab which made it take three times the normal amount to go like a mile and a half. I was so tired, I got the greens, but not the tomatoes. I had enough tomato to make dinner and not lettuce, so it was the better one to forget. Add one new extra errand to the Wednesday physio trip. Sigh. Then I got home and nearly everything fell from the low table behind my desk. Boxes spilled. Squirrel's whole egress from their room blocked.
Really I should have started right away, but if I ate something I could take my arthritis meds. I started dinner and ate a little salad for the meds and then cleared more stuff off the low table, because it's been on the to do list for a yearish for a reason. People jammed a bunch of random stuff on there along with the stuff that goes there for assorted inspections and emergencies, including the Great HOA Contractor siege an d the Great Living Room Migration, which was why it was unstable in the first place. It's supposed to have several storage boxes I need frequent access to and things I need when I go out like the messenger bag, emergency go bag, and things headed to the car like shopping bags and returning library books on it.
I have found yet more high level face masks I could have sworn I had, but hadn't seen in two years. Seriously, I kept running out of face masks and not being able to find the ones I knew I bought. During the City Contractor thing I discovered the really good masks had been hidden out of my reach where I could not see them. (I know who put them there. Sigh.) Apparently the container of my second best masks has been destablizing the things on the low table for probably a year and a half, which is not where they go and not where I'd think to look for them. This I know was not malicious as they disappeared right before an inspection and it does make sense from a people helping me tidy ahead of a short notice invasion o my apartment perspective. I'd have found them long before this if we hadn't basically under siege here mostly from management, but also from my body for the past two years.
Good News on Squirrel's arm! They paid out of pocket for a real doctor instead of the asshole didn't listen or investigate properly one their work sent them too, but the specialist did a real examination and tests and proper scans. It is definitely work related and being forced to do all that lifting was in fact deteriorating it at an alarming rate.
They are likely getting everything covered by health insurance after all including initial specialist visit and scans. They are likely getting back pay. They are definitely getting at least ten days off to rest the arm with associated time off pay, though that and the back pay may be delayed so bills are dicey this month. They are allowed to lift zero pounds with the arm until Doctor says so. (I am taking small amounts of recycling out on the dolly every time I leave the house. My shoulder hurts the way it did two years before replacement, so I can't lift much either.) They have one super gentler physio to work on this week and there will be more workman's comp covered physio later.
I am massively relieved because the deterioration was so fast and aggressive and Work's plan was to keep making them injure it more over and over every shift until they were too disabled to work any more.
* Wednesday was physio. I made it to the car on time and out onto the highway. The sky was the wrong colour again. It was raining, but it looked like a dead tropical fish, not normal rain clouds. I learned later the air quality was really bad, which is a weird combination with rain, especially here. This would explain why my breathing wasn't quite up to snuff.
Physio went fine. Seven total exercises now, two are upgrades of ones I did last week. One of the new ones my fake shoulder noped out of, but we were mostly done anyway. I ended up going through town for the tomatoes instead of going up an exit as planned because that looked like the best option when I saw the on ramp line. I wish I'd brought my library books. sigh. So that's now on Thursday's to do.
Livia flagged me down when I got home and lured me back to bed for Livia Love time. He mental state continues to worry me, but I got her to play a bit yesterday. She's been refusing her favorite feather toy, but I retrieved Tavy's special toy, the one Art and Techie Millennial got for him a month or two before his big decline. (Livia's special feather toy was just for her. It is fair). We picked this one with a feather boa/wiggle worm sort of situation as long as him. It was very to his taste. Good for Chasing and Wrasselling. He absolutely adored it for the brief time he had it. We were keeping it where cats wouldn't get it between plays like we do with Livia's special toy. It had been there since the last time he was well enough to chase it. I got it down and got her to do catch and maul, which is as good as it gets since the day before Tavy died. He and I had a pet and watched her chase the feather toy all over the bed. Just getting her to bat at it is hard now. She had a good long play, even if I couldn't get her to chase it.
I am worried about her. She's getting more reclusive again and has stopped sitting on the pettin throne by my desk for pets this week. January is car tax and February is housing levy. Housing went up this year and they are threatening us with another "Special assessment," though we've no idea when or how much. We really need to get her kitten(s) for mental health reasons, but I don't see how I can save anything close to enough any time soon, so I keep doing what I can to comfort her.
New Millennial's been taking good care of me. For physio nights they prep a lasagna the night before with ingredients I supply. I preheat the oven. When get here they pop dinner in the oven and make a little salad so I can have my meds and to tide me over. Rest, food, and meds help. I have my tiger balm and heating pads. I am managing okay. I just need to lie down a lot.
