The goal of this legislation is to harm or kill as many ordinary people by stealing their health care while ballooning the deficit by 2.3 trillion (according to last night's figures) by giving tax cuts to billionaires.
Not all deficit is bad. Deficit to invest in things like education or health or infrastructure is good for obvious reasons. This deficit is entirely about sucking money out of the economy and into billionaire bank accounts. It gives nothing back; it only harms.

* Monday, I managed to wear a tee shirt for the first time in over a year. I don't want to subject the good tee shirts to hot water washing, but it means my bumming around the house ones can go back into rotations. This is helpful because at any given time, one or two of the post surgical shirts is missing. I just found the millennial tailored one after two months of searching last week.
Goth Millennial is having a very complicated week, so they cancelled for Wednesday night. I decided given how difficult my body is being, I'd be better off doing errands when things open in the morning. My plan was to start getting ready 9:45 AMish, as everything opens at ten and I needed to go up the other end of town, and that's 15-20 on the highway at my estimation of traffic.
Tavy climbed onto me for some Mountain Goating at 9:40, so I held him with a retaining arm and kept tinkering with the aggregate until he was done, at which point Livia turned up on the pettin throne. You would think I'd be annoyed, as the heat and traffic increase after eleven and I also needed to go to the library.
In the event the delay was fortuitous as the phone rang. It was in home physio lady who I haven't seen in about a month and a half and today was the last chance for PT before DHHS ended it. She had a cancellation for what is usually the worst time for me. I took it.
So I went out and got the piece of wood for fixing some shelving, bread and tea, and exchanged my books. Miraculously there was enough time for me to put things away and sort out the kitchen shelf before she came. Really, I should nail it together like a grown up, but it works pretty much as I envisioned without it. The shelving that goes over the recycling has very thin sides, but it occurred to me if I just got a sturdy, wide and reasonably thick piece of wood, I could get them to cut a piece the right length for a third shelf with a smaller piece for a central column to steady it. I used to own a saw, but Skye had the tool box we shared when he was murdered so his family took nearly all my tools and I am still slowly replacing them. I have enough extra wood I could do more with, but I'd need to purchase a saw, so that's a problem for future me.
The shelf is a little cockeyed, but honestly the whole thing leans against the wall anyway and Goth Millennial repurposed one of the plastic garden flats I use for sorting and carrying into a makeshift shelf there a month or so ago. It was a bit small and bendy, but it gave me the idea for a sturdier replacement. It has useful sides, so I just left w=everything in there and put it on the top shelf. I have great hopes of fewer things falling as a result.
I got some isometric exercises for my next arm goal and a brief massage. I made an appointment to talk about joints with my GP afterwards. She's booked until July, which my PT will not like. I did try to warn her they tend to be booked 2-3 months out, but she was sure I was mistaken. *eye roll*
* Amidst all the other bureaucracy battles, we're still working on getting Goth Millennial sorted out with the AID work. *glares at CDWA* So Thursday and Friday, I am porting them out for what I hope will be the end of the jerking around about pay and employment. It was a bit of a struggle to find the place, which was in another town) so my car was smoking when I pulled up. (The car is on it's last legs. There is no fixing it at this point, so I travel with fluids). I popped the hood and lay down in the back seat to read, until they were done. They were gone about forty minutes, by which time it was cool enough for oil to go in.
We do it again Friday for another indeterminate amount of time. I shall try to remember to bring an ILL. It's costing us 1/3-1/2 a tank of gas, which I can't afford to replace. I probably shouldn't have bought the piece of wood and the tea, in retrospect. Sigh.
After I got back, it was still a pleasant temperature, though heating up, so I went out to do a bit of weeding in the garden, and also a bit of shuffling things around. Only half of the starts are in the ground, but at least they are getting sun an water. This was all the standing up I had in me.
Wednesday, I was running close to the posting limit, so I cast a bunch of things on Tumblr to post after 9PM, then went to bed in the afternoon, always a disorienting prospect. Likely, something similar is happening today only without casting things forward.
* I ended up about three hours short on Sleep Friday due to that thing where I get up to pee, and then the cats all want long pettins and I can't get back to sleep. I did get Goth Millennial to where they needed to go on time. The car was smoking again when we pulled up.
It is clear the car can't handle even short trips over flat roads to the Reservation and/or the town next to it. Sigh.
They were in there a lot longer this time. So long someone came out to check on me. Problem was the only window that can roll down is driver side and the car must be one to open it and the back seat doors don't work and I was lying down back there reading about a quarter of a non-fiction ILL. So she's trying to get me to roll down the window or open the door to talk and I'm trying to figure out how to mime me needing her to open the door.
I am too disabled to go over the canter area into the front seats.
On the upside, she let me go inside to pee after I explained the back door doesn't open from the inside and I couldn't move the car from the parking spot until the person I was waiting for came out to put more fluids into it.
I am badly bruised from the three and half hours or so in the back seat because various things dig into my flesh however I position myself. I'm also in a lot of pain from my shoulder. I did manage a little nap at one point, but little is the operative word.
We won't know if the pay/employment issue is sorted for a little bit. Let us all hope it is.
I picked up bagels on the way home with the last of the EBT, so I got to have bagel sammiches. I feel terrible though. This is a lot of physical stress and pain and dragging around forage boxes after I got home did not help.
I had planned to do a bit more gardening today, get some more starts transplanted, but I got the shakes really bad just trying to get forage perishables put away. I have so much I need to do and the headache makes me weepy.
I really need to get the aggregate out and check on action Item breaking news. I've a nasty suspicion it's not happening today.
In other news, Newest Millennial came and did food prep and cleaned the kitchen Thursday afternoon. It was really nice in there. I'm glad they are at least getting paid.
* Two things I learned Friday:
1. John Ross and James Ross were different guys. (I was vaguely aware their were two related polar explorers, but the names were so similar, when I encountered them separately, I thought they were the same guy.
2. My knees are now capable of bruising each other if I lie down to long without padding between them. (Getting old is annoying, which I DID know).

* Monday, I managed to wear a tee shirt for the first time in over a year. I don't want to subject the good tee shirts to hot water washing, but it means my bumming around the house ones can go back into rotations. This is helpful because at any given time, one or two of the post surgical shirts is missing. I just found the millennial tailored one after two months of searching last week.
Goth Millennial is having a very complicated week, so they cancelled for Wednesday night. I decided given how difficult my body is being, I'd be better off doing errands when things open in the morning. My plan was to start getting ready 9:45 AMish, as everything opens at ten and I needed to go up the other end of town, and that's 15-20 on the highway at my estimation of traffic.
Tavy climbed onto me for some Mountain Goating at 9:40, so I held him with a retaining arm and kept tinkering with the aggregate until he was done, at which point Livia turned up on the pettin throne. You would think I'd be annoyed, as the heat and traffic increase after eleven and I also needed to go to the library.
In the event the delay was fortuitous as the phone rang. It was in home physio lady who I haven't seen in about a month and a half and today was the last chance for PT before DHHS ended it. She had a cancellation for what is usually the worst time for me. I took it.
So I went out and got the piece of wood for fixing some shelving, bread and tea, and exchanged my books. Miraculously there was enough time for me to put things away and sort out the kitchen shelf before she came. Really, I should nail it together like a grown up, but it works pretty much as I envisioned without it. The shelving that goes over the recycling has very thin sides, but it occurred to me if I just got a sturdy, wide and reasonably thick piece of wood, I could get them to cut a piece the right length for a third shelf with a smaller piece for a central column to steady it. I used to own a saw, but Skye had the tool box we shared when he was murdered so his family took nearly all my tools and I am still slowly replacing them. I have enough extra wood I could do more with, but I'd need to purchase a saw, so that's a problem for future me.
The shelf is a little cockeyed, but honestly the whole thing leans against the wall anyway and Goth Millennial repurposed one of the plastic garden flats I use for sorting and carrying into a makeshift shelf there a month or so ago. It was a bit small and bendy, but it gave me the idea for a sturdier replacement. It has useful sides, so I just left w=everything in there and put it on the top shelf. I have great hopes of fewer things falling as a result.
I got some isometric exercises for my next arm goal and a brief massage. I made an appointment to talk about joints with my GP afterwards. She's booked until July, which my PT will not like. I did try to warn her they tend to be booked 2-3 months out, but she was sure I was mistaken. *eye roll*
* Amidst all the other bureaucracy battles, we're still working on getting Goth Millennial sorted out with the AID work. *glares at CDWA* So Thursday and Friday, I am porting them out for what I hope will be the end of the jerking around about pay and employment. It was a bit of a struggle to find the place, which was in another town) so my car was smoking when I pulled up. (The car is on it's last legs. There is no fixing it at this point, so I travel with fluids). I popped the hood and lay down in the back seat to read, until they were done. They were gone about forty minutes, by which time it was cool enough for oil to go in.
We do it again Friday for another indeterminate amount of time. I shall try to remember to bring an ILL. It's costing us 1/3-1/2 a tank of gas, which I can't afford to replace. I probably shouldn't have bought the piece of wood and the tea, in retrospect. Sigh.
After I got back, it was still a pleasant temperature, though heating up, so I went out to do a bit of weeding in the garden, and also a bit of shuffling things around. Only half of the starts are in the ground, but at least they are getting sun an water. This was all the standing up I had in me.
Wednesday, I was running close to the posting limit, so I cast a bunch of things on Tumblr to post after 9PM, then went to bed in the afternoon, always a disorienting prospect. Likely, something similar is happening today only without casting things forward.
* I ended up about three hours short on Sleep Friday due to that thing where I get up to pee, and then the cats all want long pettins and I can't get back to sleep. I did get Goth Millennial to where they needed to go on time. The car was smoking again when we pulled up.
It is clear the car can't handle even short trips over flat roads to the Reservation and/or the town next to it. Sigh.
They were in there a lot longer this time. So long someone came out to check on me. Problem was the only window that can roll down is driver side and the car must be one to open it and the back seat doors don't work and I was lying down back there reading about a quarter of a non-fiction ILL. So she's trying to get me to roll down the window or open the door to talk and I'm trying to figure out how to mime me needing her to open the door.
I am too disabled to go over the canter area into the front seats.
On the upside, she let me go inside to pee after I explained the back door doesn't open from the inside and I couldn't move the car from the parking spot until the person I was waiting for came out to put more fluids into it.
I am badly bruised from the three and half hours or so in the back seat because various things dig into my flesh however I position myself. I'm also in a lot of pain from my shoulder. I did manage a little nap at one point, but little is the operative word.
We won't know if the pay/employment issue is sorted for a little bit. Let us all hope it is.
I picked up bagels on the way home with the last of the EBT, so I got to have bagel sammiches. I feel terrible though. This is a lot of physical stress and pain and dragging around forage boxes after I got home did not help.
I had planned to do a bit more gardening today, get some more starts transplanted, but I got the shakes really bad just trying to get forage perishables put away. I have so much I need to do and the headache makes me weepy.
I really need to get the aggregate out and check on action Item breaking news. I've a nasty suspicion it's not happening today.
In other news, Newest Millennial came and did food prep and cleaned the kitchen Thursday afternoon. It was really nice in there. I'm glad they are at least getting paid.
* Two things I learned Friday:
1. John Ross and James Ross were different guys. (I was vaguely aware their were two related polar explorers, but the names were so similar, when I encountered them separately, I thought they were the same guy.
2. My knees are now capable of bruising each other if I lie down to long without padding between them. (Getting old is annoying, which I DID know).
