NOTE: There is a call for people to vote "uncommitted" in the Democratic primary as a protest against Biden's Israel policy. The time to pressure Biden with your vote is now, not in November. The pressure from all the different types of protests do seem to be working, if far slower than we'd like.
NOTE 2: There is a similar protest against Trump where people vote for a candidate who isn't running. Check your state to see who people are promoting.

Indiana: 5/7/24 (Governer, Senate, House Primaries as well! Important!!!)
Maryland, Nebraska, West Virginia: 5/14/24 (Senate and House Primaries as well! Important!!!)
Georgia, Kentucky, Oregon, Idaho: 5/21/24 (House Primaries as well! Important!!!)
Know your state's schedule and where to vote. Make sure you and your friends are registered. If you are voting in person, plan how to get there.
If you live in an open primary state consider voting strategically. Otherwise, vote your heart in the primary. Remember how all those votes for Sanders and Warren pushed Biden and the party platform further left?
Remember to vote in all the races, not just the top of the ticket even if it's in a separate primary (as it is in my state). Who runs congress, your state, and your local government really matters. In some states this is a separate primary. Check the rules for your state.
Never, ever sleep on a chance to vote.
It is always better to vote for someone who will listen to us than to let someone who is actively trying to kill us.

* 4/19/24:
Last night the emperor kept climbing to perch on my wounded shoulder and resisted dislodging, causing immense pain. I could feel a muscle go in my neck (Strained, I think. I was an athlete in the before time. I've never fucked up my neck this way, but I've fucked up other things.) So that's a fun bonus on top of all the extra shoulder pain. Which of course fucked up my sleep.
Tonight, about a half hour before Squirrel got home, i discovered my bathroom electricity was fucked. Again. I informed squirrel who discovered his Computer and a couple other things dead in his room. we spent most of an hour trying to sort it, damaging ourselves (My arm; his dangerously fucked up spine) in the process.)
Long time readers will know the wiring here is incredibly stupid. Power goes out a lot. We have to run long power cords from less used curuits because they put more than half the electricity usage not taken by major appliances onto one curcuit. We are now under threat of disability inspection because one of the Asshole agency cleaners narced over it, but if I want air filtration or fan or the television on in my room I have to run that electricity all the way from the kitchen. There are very few plugs in all the wrong places. This kind of thing.
It is stupid in other ways. A bunch of things are connected that shouldn't be. There are secret hidden secondary curcuit breakers which I am sure help, but make diagnostics a Drama. Those who remember the great outage a couple of years ago when everything died at once, including the stove, the car, and the non-appliance electricity to bathrooms and kitchen, may remember that we lost electricity because the original builder wrapped the grounding wire around the live wire in my bathroom outlet which even I, in my great ignorance, know is a bad idea.
So trying to solve an outage is more complicated than it needs to be. We started at the big electrical panel, of course, but it just went on from there. Secret curcuit breakers were flipped too. We nhad to move a bunch of things to try rerouting power. Squirrel insisted his issue was different from nmine. While he was at work Someone (Tavy. Who else would it be), knocked something off the desk that fried a power strip.
We were at the discussion about electricians, in which I was like: I can't afford an electrician. I'm already short for bills and car repair, when he went back into his room. I got power back into my room via the kitchen secret circuit breaker which had at some point since we first checked it now had the little red light on, so I flipped it again. Which freed up the emergency power cord I'd been trying to use to reroute power so I could try to do a work around for bathroom electricity.
I step into my bathroom and am actually there when the power comes on for thirty seconds, then turns itself off. Apparently squirrel had flipped his secret bathroom circuit breaker on again, but had left the extension cord in, blowing it again. It was the extension cord the dead power strip was attached too.
So the second stupidest electrical mystery we ever had here was solved. The dead extension cord had joined the burned power strip in the trash. Squirrel just needs a new power strip. Sigh.
* 4/20/24: Squirrel was kind enough to treat me to a matinee by way of company. We had fun. It was just good to be anywhere, honestly. I missed the cherry blossoms this year. Sigh.
* The Emperor has been holding damaged arm Stompfest for several nights. I feels like being cut with knives and results in me waking up making horrifying pain sounds alarming both cats. I get it, I do. They have trouble getting their heads around me being this damaged this long with an injury they can't see and can no longer smell. Livia periodically checks gently and accepts I'm still injured. The Emperor keeps stubbornly trying to make it not so by acting as if it isn't. I too am very very tired of being injured.
Millennials whirlwind cleaned the kitchen today. It is a little alarming.
* 4/22/24: X-rays look good. We are going to be free ranging my arm a lot more. Physio starts Wednesday.
I've been quietly weeding the plants I don't have to stoop for with my good hand for weeks. We already have volunteers and I planted some lettuce seeds. Goth millennial spent Sunday spring cleaning the garden, and planted the starts I spent the last EBT on.
* 4/24/24: Arm torture started today. I can barely do any of it just now, but that's okay. Medical transport did not collect me. I think she parked at the wrong address because about fifteen minutes after the three minute warning call, a car matching the description drove past on the way out of the complex and didn't even slow down. Sigh. I bet this is what happened the other time they did the same thing.
The car repair came in slightly under budget. I've a soft ban on driving. Puttering around my neighborhood at low traffic times is okay. It hurts, but it's manageable as long as I'm careful when putting it in park or drive. I am absolutely not allowed out in rush hour or on the highway. This is fine with me.
I would like to thank all the people who helped with car repair and the other bill. All is well here at the Cat Asylum.

* 4/25: My arm is terribly bad at going up, but I hit my physio goals for the day. The hand and forearm stuff is tiring, but doable. The shoulder stuff is barely manageable, but that's to be expected.
Sleeping is challenging again as my hip joint really can't do more than four hours a night and I remain terrible at sleeping on my back.
* 4/26/24: The Tiny Terror Strikes Again
I had intended to release my skeleton aggregate early Friday morning, but in the wee hours the emperor wiped out my browser again with a casual shift of his foot. I lost a lot this time too, but it was overall less catastrophic. It was, however, time consuming and a ton of things are gone, gone gone. Sigh.

Know your state's schedule and where to vote. Make sure you and your friends are registered. If you are voting in person, plan how to get there.
If you live in an open primary state consider voting strategically. Otherwise, vote your heart in the primary. Remember how all those votes for Sanders and Warren pushed Biden and the party platform further left?
Remember to vote in all the races, not just the top of the ticket even if it's in a separate primary (as it is in my state). Who runs congress, your state, and your local government really matters. In some states this is a separate primary. Check the rules for your state.
Never, ever sleep on a chance to vote.
It is always better to vote for someone who will listen to us than to let someone who is actively trying to kill us.

* 4/19/24:
Last night the emperor kept climbing to perch on my wounded shoulder and resisted dislodging, causing immense pain. I could feel a muscle go in my neck (Strained, I think. I was an athlete in the before time. I've never fucked up my neck this way, but I've fucked up other things.) So that's a fun bonus on top of all the extra shoulder pain. Which of course fucked up my sleep.
Tonight, about a half hour before Squirrel got home, i discovered my bathroom electricity was fucked. Again. I informed squirrel who discovered his Computer and a couple other things dead in his room. we spent most of an hour trying to sort it, damaging ourselves (My arm; his dangerously fucked up spine) in the process.)
Long time readers will know the wiring here is incredibly stupid. Power goes out a lot. We have to run long power cords from less used curuits because they put more than half the electricity usage not taken by major appliances onto one curcuit. We are now under threat of disability inspection because one of the Asshole agency cleaners narced over it, but if I want air filtration or fan or the television on in my room I have to run that electricity all the way from the kitchen. There are very few plugs in all the wrong places. This kind of thing.
It is stupid in other ways. A bunch of things are connected that shouldn't be. There are secret hidden secondary curcuit breakers which I am sure help, but make diagnostics a Drama. Those who remember the great outage a couple of years ago when everything died at once, including the stove, the car, and the non-appliance electricity to bathrooms and kitchen, may remember that we lost electricity because the original builder wrapped the grounding wire around the live wire in my bathroom outlet which even I, in my great ignorance, know is a bad idea.
So trying to solve an outage is more complicated than it needs to be. We started at the big electrical panel, of course, but it just went on from there. Secret curcuit breakers were flipped too. We nhad to move a bunch of things to try rerouting power. Squirrel insisted his issue was different from nmine. While he was at work Someone (Tavy. Who else would it be), knocked something off the desk that fried a power strip.
We were at the discussion about electricians, in which I was like: I can't afford an electrician. I'm already short for bills and car repair, when he went back into his room. I got power back into my room via the kitchen secret circuit breaker which had at some point since we first checked it now had the little red light on, so I flipped it again. Which freed up the emergency power cord I'd been trying to use to reroute power so I could try to do a work around for bathroom electricity.
I step into my bathroom and am actually there when the power comes on for thirty seconds, then turns itself off. Apparently squirrel had flipped his secret bathroom circuit breaker on again, but had left the extension cord in, blowing it again. It was the extension cord the dead power strip was attached too.
So the second stupidest electrical mystery we ever had here was solved. The dead extension cord had joined the burned power strip in the trash. Squirrel just needs a new power strip. Sigh.
* 4/20/24: Squirrel was kind enough to treat me to a matinee by way of company. We had fun. It was just good to be anywhere, honestly. I missed the cherry blossoms this year. Sigh.
* The Emperor has been holding damaged arm Stompfest for several nights. I feels like being cut with knives and results in me waking up making horrifying pain sounds alarming both cats. I get it, I do. They have trouble getting their heads around me being this damaged this long with an injury they can't see and can no longer smell. Livia periodically checks gently and accepts I'm still injured. The Emperor keeps stubbornly trying to make it not so by acting as if it isn't. I too am very very tired of being injured.
Millennials whirlwind cleaned the kitchen today. It is a little alarming.
* 4/22/24: X-rays look good. We are going to be free ranging my arm a lot more. Physio starts Wednesday.
I've been quietly weeding the plants I don't have to stoop for with my good hand for weeks. We already have volunteers and I planted some lettuce seeds. Goth millennial spent Sunday spring cleaning the garden, and planted the starts I spent the last EBT on.
* 4/24/24: Arm torture started today. I can barely do any of it just now, but that's okay. Medical transport did not collect me. I think she parked at the wrong address because about fifteen minutes after the three minute warning call, a car matching the description drove past on the way out of the complex and didn't even slow down. Sigh. I bet this is what happened the other time they did the same thing.
The car repair came in slightly under budget. I've a soft ban on driving. Puttering around my neighborhood at low traffic times is okay. It hurts, but it's manageable as long as I'm careful when putting it in park or drive. I am absolutely not allowed out in rush hour or on the highway. This is fine with me.

* 4/25: My arm is terribly bad at going up, but I hit my physio goals for the day. The hand and forearm stuff is tiring, but doable. The shoulder stuff is barely manageable, but that's to be expected.
Sleeping is challenging again as my hip joint really can't do more than four hours a night and I remain terrible at sleeping on my back.
* 4/26/24: The Tiny Terror Strikes Again
I had intended to release my skeleton aggregate early Friday morning, but in the wee hours the emperor wiped out my browser again with a casual shift of his foot. I lost a lot this time too, but it was overall less catastrophic. It was, however, time consuming and a ton of things are gone, gone gone. Sigh.
