“ Prosecutors agreed to release Mr. Brooks on Nov. 11 for a small fraction of the $10,000 bail they initially requested. In a statement on Monday, the Milwaukee district attorney, John T. Chisholm, described the state’s bail recommendation as “inappropriately low” in light of the seriousness of the charges and “not consistent” with office policy.”
They decided attempted murder wasn’t a serious crime and let him out on the fraction of the bail as he’d only tried to violently murder the mother of his child, and then he went on to injure and kill a whole bunch of people using the same weapon. Which he couldn’t have done if the authorities took domestic violence seriously. Just saying.

When I taught in a town a little north of here we had to memorize volcano evacuation plans just in case. In never happened, but it could because they were in one of the likely paths in the event of a really bad eruption, and they were were thinking ahead about school and town just in case.
We did not do volcano drills, though we did do earthquake and active schooter drills. We also had to evacuate the school once as there was danger of flooding cutting kids off from their houses and it was waaaay better to send them home to there families for obvious reasons.

“ Prosecutors agreed to release Mr. Brooks on Nov. 11 for a small fraction of the $10,000 bail they initially requested. In a statement on Monday, the Milwaukee district attorney, John T. Chisholm, described the state’s bail recommendation as “inappropriately low” in light of the seriousness of the charges and “not consistent” with office policy.”
They decided attempted murder wasn’t a serious crime and let him out on the fraction of the bail as he’d only tried to violently murder the mother of his child, and then he went on to injure and kill a whole bunch of people using the same weapon. Which he couldn’t have done if the authorities took domestic violence seriously. Just saying.

We did not do volcano drills, though we did do earthquake and active schooter drills. We also had to evacuate the school once as there was danger of flooding cutting kids off from their houses and it was waaaay better to send them home to there families for obvious reasons.
