gwydion* Kim Jong Un has just declared himself marshal of the army. It's thought that he removed and is replacing the previous Marshal as part of a bid to consolidate power.
* The fighting in Damascus continues. The opposition has declared their main goal is to protect civilians from massacre by the government, but that they are planning to take the capital back. It sounds like they've managed to improve communication which is helping them to marshal troops. There has just been a suicide bombing at the Security headquarters in Damascus. The barracks near the Palace are in flames. Civilians are being cleared from several suburbs were army tanks and artillery are rolling in.
