* I got very little sleep for Monday and Tuesday because of assorted phone bureaucracy things mostly. I'm still dealing with the pain from last week. Bonus for the water being turned off Monday so I couldn't do hydrotherapy before bed, making everything worse again.

On the upside, I'm being declared disabled enough that the state will hire one of the Millenials as a home care aid, which is a huge help to me and gets the Millenial in question pay and benefits for helping. It's a side gig kind of thing, but it comes with free paid training they can use to get more jobs.

They need to do a final assessment, but the social worker said it will be at least 44 hours a month. basically, I'm posting the aggregate, eating, doing lungs, stealing a bath while we still have water, and going to bed. (They are turning the water off again Monday. One was pipe replacement for the complex. The oither was something to do with another attempt at sorting the water pressure. I like it like this to be honest; it's way better than the previous not enough water pressure, but here we go again.)

* ToS: Season 2 Rewatch:

- 2.20: Return to Tomorrow. CW: Suicide. An anomaly turns out to be a dead planet. An entity called Sargon had summoned them. He says he's as dead as his planet. They decide to follow directions. They transport into a chamber deep inside the planet. It wants Spock along so Kirk gives in on that too. McCoy is understandably not into it. It wants a sexy astrobiologist too, apparently. Security gets left behind.

They talk to the energy orb containing Sargon. Sargon thinks they are descendants from when they seeded the galaxy. They then destroyed themselves. Their minds became so powerful they thought of themselves as gods.

Sargon possesses Kirk. McCoy illogically threatens to kill Kirk, which Spock points out is not a great idea. Sargon is really enjoying being meat and compliments McCoy and kirk on the condition of the body. Kirk is in the orb. The thing is killing Kirk, but there's time. The other two want to possess Spock for the last of the enemy and the sexy Astrobiologit for his wife. The plan is to use the bodes to make androids.

They give Kirk back his body. Kirk is into it; the others aren't. Sexy Scientist changes her mind and starts arguing Kirk's side. McCoy holds out even after the others are seduced by science and engineering gifts. He eventually gives in in the face of a big inspiring speech. The Enemy One is perving on Nurse Chapel and correctly identifies his body as the best of the lot. Sargon's wife is very into the Kirk body. They kiss.

Kirk's body collapses. The other one starts working on an injection to help them hold longer without killing the Feds. The hypos have different formulas, because he wants to kill Sargon. He makes Chapel forget the plan to kill Kirk and Sargon. Curse your sudden inevitable betrayal!

Scotty doesn't believe in their tech. Enemy Entity tries to tempt her into stealing the bodies. Nimoy's acting is so good in this episode; Shatner's not so much. Kirk's body begins to fail. She tries to tempt Sargon. Kirk dies. I wish. No, Sargon is supposedly dead and Kirk's body is nearly dead, but his mind is still in the orb. The wife doesn't want to give up the body. She tries to trade Kirk's life for the body she's occupying. She tortures McCoy, but repents. Sargon is secretly inhabiting the Enterprise. They decide to take on the Enemy.

Kirk wakes up. Spocks crystal is destroyed. They are going to poison Spock's body. The Enemy tortures Uhura, Kirk, And the scientist. Nurse Chapel injects Spock's body. Sargon prevents transfer, but Sargon saves Spock once the other is destroyed. Sargon let them think it was enough to kill Spock so the enemy would read their minds and believe. Spock's mind was hiding in Nurse Chapel, commingling them. *ahem* The aliens commit suicide while kissing instead of going into the bodies they'd prepared.

Star Fleet HR and psychiatric must have had a field day with this one.

* TNG: Season 7 Rewatch:

- 7.21 Firstborn. It is time for Alexander's First Rite of Ascension, which he needs to become a Klingon Warrior. Alexander resists. The ship has some down time, so they are doing assorted maintenance and projects. Worf is distracted at the meeting, so Picard questions him after. Picard suggests taking Alexander to a Klingon Festival. Worf explains the performance to the crew. Worf does simulated combat in the performance, singing the replies. I actually really liked this part. Then Alexander tries it, followed by Kayliss come to defeat the tyrant. Alexander gets into the festival.

Worf and Alexander are ambushed, but Worf beats them up and his brother's advisor turns up to scare them away. He's there to prevent an assassination attempt on Worf by the Durass Sisters. They are going to try to get Alexander to commit to the Rite of Ascension.

This episode has references to DS9, presumably for cross promotion purposes, as this was ending ad that was in its fragile first season. Riker bribes Quark for info on the Durass sisters. They go question a stranded illegal miner about the sisters, trading passage for information. The sisters took everything and ran.

Meanwhile they give Alexander fighting lessons. Alexander refuses to kill the holodeck opponent. The other Klingon suggests boarding school, but Worf objects. The Klingon threatens to take Alexander. Alexander really isn't on board with Klingon stories and values. The other Klingon is nasty about it. Alexander doesn't want to go to Boarding School or become a warrior. The mystery of him not wanting to do combat practice is solved. sigh.

They catch the Durass sisters, who claim innocence, but point out the dagger has the markings for a son. she only just found out she was pregnant and they have no other children. The other Klingon claims he's really Alexander from forty years in the future. he remembers his mother's last words, so Worf accepts it. He was trying to kill Alexander to save Worf's life. He blames himself for being a diplomat instead of a warrior and getting Worf killed by not listening to him. Worf says he wants to die an honorable death and who knows what will happen now time has been disrupted. He tells Adult Alexander to be true to himself. This is literally the best parenting I've ever seen Worf do. They hug. Worf changes his parenting style.

I'm going to be honest. I never liked Alexander. I never enjoyed plots involving him. I do like extra glimpses into Klingon culture, but... Yeah. At the same time? Worf is pretty much shit at parenting and Adult Alexander is even worse at handling young Alexander. Still the scene where Worf affirms Adult Alexander was legitimately moving and really well acted and written. Props because they found a way to get me to care about Alexander.
