* Ratko Mladic's trial is starting with 11 charges relating to genocide and crimes against humanity. My feelings about this and the War in general are too intense to write about even after all these years.

* In Egypt, President Mursi has ordered Parliament to reconvene. There looks to have been an agreement between him and the military as the army forces are withdrawing. Fingers crossed folks. Almost anything could happen good or bad.

* Koffi Annan has met with Assad in Syria again. He's to meet with the Opposition next. he's claiming they are making progress. I have no faith at all in Assad or Annan, so I'm not holding my breath for any agreement stopping the genocide. I would, of course, love to be surprised.

* There has been catastrophic flooding in Plinsk, with people drowning in their beds, as officials didn't think it worthwhile to warn people of the impending inundation. I couldn't find any reputable charity helping the survivors specifically as of this writing. I'm guessing your best bet right now is Red Cross.

* There is some sort of child killing epidemic in Cambodia, with a very high death rate (Two survivors out of 67 victims). It's an ugly death with neurological involvement and the lungs being destroyed. I couldn't find any reputable charity specifically targeting this epidemic. I'm guessing your best bet is Doctors without borders or red Cross maybe? Sorry.

* Yes, I'm aware of the Barclay's/Bank of England interest fixing scandal, but it's a bit dog bites man, isn't it? We know the financial system is wildly corrupt and needs more regulation and policing, not less. It's nice they are actually planning to hold people responsible in the UK. I wish we were doing the same, but our government is in bed with Wallstreet, so I'm not holding my breath. Anyway, I'm all for prosecuting corrupt ratings agency and bank officials, but I can't really think of anything new or exciting to say.

* I just saw one of Mitt Romney's surrogates claiming that Mitt Romney was lying in his tax form when he claimed he had Swiss Bank accounts. O.o

* Pro-child rape Penn state supporters have donated a record amount of money to the University to reward them for having protected convicted pedophile Sandusky. Charming.

* The coverage on the Islamist destruction of Medieval Islamic cultural treasures and monuments in Timbuktu is breaking my heart. So much that is unique is being lost forever.

* It was too hot to sleep last night until the rains came and solved it. I feel achy and hungover today from the insomnia and airborne allergens. Tomorrow I need to remember not to eat as I'm going to see the interim Doctor, and could theoretically get my blood taken while I'm down there.

:( Sorry to hear that. I am hungover from taking a sleep med for my restless legs last night. I hope it's cooler where you are today.
