My Katie puppy hates the fireworks, and my dad always has a big bash on the 4th so she's at home alone. We left the party this year about half an hour before the fireworks were supposed to start, pleading a headache. Where we used to live, there were neighbors doing the equivalent of a home fireworks show, though at the new house there were only occasional firecrackers so Katie was glued to us, poor thing. No walking her when she's like that - soon as she hears any firecrackers, she tries to hide behind my legs, even if she's desperate to go out. :(
