* So here's the deal. I was healthy for approximately one day after I finished the antibiotics. Then I got to play cold or sinus infection. As Livia had a cold I decided to take standard measures and wait it out. She's better today; I'm slightly better. Dunno. Either way I'm exhausted and having a lot of sleep disruption.
I foraged Wednesday and picked up prescriptions which stopped the pharmacy robot waking me up every day to complain. Thursday I got awakened by a couple of calls, including the first contractor wanting to inspect before bidding. I didn't want to dress myself and wake up Squirrel mid sleep cycle, so we agreed to Friday 4ish.
I got a couple of hurs of sleep for Friday and dragged myself out early for errands, No parking at forage so I looped to pick the prescriptions that weren't ready Wednesday. No close parking at forage, but a scored one in gimping distance, but I forgot the eggs, as Squirrel accidentally smooshed most of Wednesday's. D'oh! Then off to grocery, where there was no close parking. Of course. I finished my book on CD on the way back so stopped at the time traveling book drop to return it.
As I was driving to my parking lot exist, billows of what I thought was smoke started pouring out of my car, so I parked in front of Starbucks. I was freaking out. No way can I afford a tow, let alone replace he ancient behemoth. Still, I popped the hood and found we'd blown a hose, which was gushing water. At lest it wasn't say the engine smoking or anything on fire. I'm glad it blew on me instead of Squirrel because 1. I'm more likely to notice right away. 2. I knew there was emergency tape in the glove box. Not ideal tape for this job, mind, but I kept wrapping it until water stopped squirting out and then I wrapped it some more. I let the car cool for a while and the nice Starbucks people, who were really alarmed for me, gave me a free drink, which was super kind, I thought.
It was a couple blocks from home, so i parked it here. I've forbidden Squirrel to drive it. We both think hose replacement won't be that expensive. I'd already blown everything but the mandatory bill set aside and the money I need for micro-pellets for the fish. Squirrel is hoping he'll have enough to cover it. We'll see.
I'm hoping I've enough fluids to get it to the honest mechanic, but I am fascinated to see how I get home, as I've about 7 dollars cash in my wallet, which isn't enough for cab fare.
