I feel weirdly protective of Adam Schiff. Part of it is that every time I have personally interacted with him, he has been lovely and gracious. Part of it is that he was actually my rep for a while there (after the most recent census, I ended up one district over from him, though I like Liu as well. And, of course, now I'm in a different state and need to move my registration and things. Though I may vote in CA one last time since that's still my official address.) Partially it's because I'm actually still on his constituent email list and it's one of the few political email lists I ever regularly read, but it's updates on what he's doing, easy to fill out polls about up-coming votes and issues, and a really easy to fill out dialogue box about 'Hey, I think you should address this' or 'this issue concerns me'. Like it was just a model of useful communication with your rep in both directions.

I'm sure he's not perfect, but I have more good associations with him than with any other person I've ever voted for in an official election.

There is absolutely no call to be threatening him with death.

I am fundamentally wary of liking politicians, but I like him too. Not quite as much as I have liked DeFazio (who's district I lived in for a while), but I really do like and admire him. From what I've seen he's a rare combination of decent person and good at his job, which is hen's teeth in a politician.
