* Bush Sr. died Friday night. Like at least two other Presidents in my lifetime, he liked to grab women without consent. Like most of the Republicans in my lifetime, he was a criminal. (Google Bush and Iran-Contra), yet didn't serve any time or even experience any consequences. I am avoiding the obits/eulogies, because I suspect they will make me gag. However, he was one of two Republican presidents in my lifetime who was bright enough to read and understand policy briefs (the other being Nixon) and he was at least vaguely competent and not openly corrupt while serving, so that puts him well above average for Republican Presidents in the last half century. I did not like him, I opposed him for reelection. He could have been so much worse as the 21st century has definitively proved.
* If Tim Scott is your Senator, now is an excellent time to protest Farr's appointment to the judiciary. If Jeff Flake is your Senator, please contact him to tell him to stand firm on his no vote pledge until Mueller is protected. Farr has a long history of racist voter suppression up to the present day.
