* I went to emergency pick up a friend after work, which ended up involving shopping as he needed some things and I needed kibble and melatonin, which was fine. So we are on the highway and we notice the sky looks odd, like it was roiling. It was fog, at streetlight level instead of ground level, strange and beautiful. Unfortunately a mile or two on, it was ground fog, then thick ground fog, bad enough I had trouble seeing the exit sign until we were almost on top of it. Then it was full on pea souper. We stopped for gas at the cheap place, only the pumps were gone. O.o It was so dreamlike, I thought I was hallucinating, but the pumps really were gone even though the associated 7-11 was open and packed. It wasn't quite as bad closer to his place, and I got him home safe. Of course, then there was the drive back through it, which was actually worse. I was so happy a truck passed me right when I reached the highway, so I could follow it's lights until the sudden clear. I am glad to be home and safe with my cats and fish and the ghost lights. I am weirdly exhausted, so odds are I'll go to bed soon.
