* When I went out for the Doctor, it was finally full on Autumn. The trees were mostly red and orange in the courtyard, and a murder cawed it's way across the sky. It was pleasantly crisp in the morning and now equally pleasantly mild now. The Best Season.

I got my tetanus booster shot, a med adjustment, and a leg check. Since I seem to be recovering from Tuesday's Incident, she decided mot to send me for scans, which are expensive, though she was glad I came in as it's good to log anything that might be a sign that a different section of spine is deteriorating. For now, we are going to watch and see, since it might just be something slipped and got a nerve. If it happens again I'll likely go for another CT scan at minimum. So let us hope it's just a blip, since if it is my L5 and or environs going, that will be very bad structurally. For now, though, it's not worth worrying and I'm just going to take my usual bad AS episode meds and see if that sorts it. It turns out I was due for the tetnus booster. I must have gotten the last one the last Spring I was teaching. We worked out the next blood test contents and we are sticking to January yearly unless something weird turns up in the new year. An upside from the meds change a year and a half ago besides mild weight loss is that I need less close blood monitoring.

I told her that I really thought she was doing an excellent job managing my care, which is true. It's been years since I needed the ER, most of the degeneration has been slow, and the lung meds are way better than the ones I was on before she took over. As other spoonies know all too well, a Doctor who takes everything seriously, is able to handle a ridiculously long and complex medical file, and doesn't fight one over absolutely necessary emergency PRNs is worth her weight in sapphires.

Bonus: She was on a medical outing with a CF specialists and discussed me with her. Apparently, they've made huge strides on CF and CF Carrier in the last decade based on genetic science, so she's going to send her my DNA results and see if there arev better targetted treatments to try on me.
