They are also using taxpayer funds to argue that sleep is not necessary to the health and safety of children, and there for they don't need to provide blankets or a place to sleep. If private citizens did this, they'd be arrested for child abuse. They literally kidnapped these children in order to abuse them in this way.

Government lawyers are using tax payer money to argue that this is safe and sanitary:

"A team of attorneys who recently visited the facility near El Paso told The Associated Press that three girls, ages 10 to 15, said they had been taking turns keeping watch over a sick 2-year-old boy because there was no one else to look after him.

When the lawyers saw the 2-year-old boy, he wasn’t wearing a diaper and had wet his pants, and his shirt was smeared in mucus. They said at least 15 children at the facility had the flu, and some were kept in medical quarantine. Children told lawyers that they were fed uncooked frozen food or rice and had gone weeks without bathing or a clean change of clothes at the facility in Clint, in the desert scrubland some 25 miles southeast of El Paso."

* I am about a week in on what i suspect is a bacterial infection, but it's not advanced enough to confirm. It's at the annoying and exhausting level rather than the sick enough to talk a random rotation physician into taking seriously, so I'm still wait and see on whether it escalates or the vaccine gives it enough partial coverage for my immune system to handle. This is why I didn't forage Wednesday. It's why I'm postponing trying to get out to swim yet again.

In other news, it is taking for fucking ever for the sofa cushion to dry and I hate it, since it's a multi-fan operation that takes up my entire bathroom and freaks out Livia.
