* When I worked for Dairy Queen in the early '90's we got a new manager who not only required us to use unpaid meal breaks to run company errands, but forbade bathroom breaks. Remember this was a restaurant where we were serving food on slippery when wet floors. She forced minimum wage employees piss themselves during lunch and dinner rush and work on in wet clothes stepping through piss puddles until they had time to mop. I honestly don't see how this saved money as people work slower and more resentfully in wet clothes after being deliberately humiliated by the emplorer and cleaning the piss up had to take about as much time as they'd have lost if they just let people pee in the toilet, but he would rather have piss smelling employees working dangerous conditions and pay them to mop later then let them have five minutes to piss. People eating there somehow didn't notice piss smelling employees. Upper management gave no fucks. I don't know how this passed the health code otherwise strictly enforced, but there you go. Metamorphosis: Beautiful diplomat gets a rare disease, and when forced off course by an alien to a planet where they find a marooned man. So the Companion saved Cochran and does the same for the dying diplomat so he can have a girlfriend. I'd forgotten this was the same Zephrem Cochran from the TNG movie with the BORG and Time Travel. The sexism is really annoying. The one human woman in the episode is mood swingy and hysterical and passive for most of the episode. Her whole nothing is worthwhile without love breakdown just makes it worse, really. She was willing to give up her individuality, career, and life for the love of a man she's barely spoken to is icky. The companion being a jealous woman in love with Cochran and so imprisoning him is just as bad, really. "Male and female are Universal Constants" my ambiguous ass. It's not true on earth, why would this be true in space? Also, I'm having a hard time imagining movie ever being this prudish and closed minded, which creates a major continuity problem for me. And Cochran can only start loving her in a woman's body. At least it does understand the concept of consent and how that changes things.
