* I didn't get anything close to enough sleep, though I did dream a really excellent YA dystopian novel I wish I had the skill to write. When I stared the car the unearthly scream was back so I don't even know what to do now. It was shorter than before the fix, so I do think it's belt related. It was a little chillier than ideal for swimming though the weather was quite nice. We went in anyway, but it was more standing around in the water than swimming proper. There was a nice couple with a very well behaved bulldog who was not fond of the water. Mostly we had a picnic and then I took MrBumblepants on errands downtown. I also hit the library and priced new wipers, which I definitely can't afford. I know, I know, I need to sell off more of my collection, but I simply haven't been up to it. I am tired and my gums are being problematic. I wish I could go to a dentist, but instead I'm pretty clearly going to require narcotics if I want to eat dinner. One of the four rescue basil plants I got in the last two weeks isn't going to make it, and I think I'm going to lose three or four rescue lettuce starts, but otherwise the vegetables are going well. (I'm not sure I conveyed how many lettuce starts I scored Monday, but we are talking 30-40 which is a ridiculous amount in a garden this size. I'm going to have black tomatoes! I'm checking them every day now as two are close to being ready. The carnations are nearly done for the season, it looks like, and I shall miss them. The pain is bad enough between the swollen gums and assorted mouth sores and my chronic pain stuff, that I'm tempted to give the fuck up on today and go back to bed, but there is no point in trying this early.
