Apr. 14th, 2015 03:52 am* Officially in the Presidential Race for 2016: Ted Cruz, Hillary Clinton, Marco Rubio, and Rand Paul. Ted Cruz is being funded almost entirely by a tax cheat who owes the American people 6 Billion dollars in the hopes that he and other rich tax cheats won't have to pay what they owe if he wins.

* I haven't $40.00 to spend on a Hugo Vote (If I did I'd be using if for car insurance). However, if you are voting, I do urge you to vote "No Vote" in protest in the hijacked categories rather than voting for one of the slate of puppy nominees.
* I’ve never much liked John W. Campbell for all the praise heaped on him from the old guard. I am not at all surprised to learn he was a racist and sexist who barred stories with black or woman protagonists from the things he edited. How did it take all these decades for me to hear about this terrible behavior? Why did none of those panegyrics I grew up with mention his racism and misogyny. My instinctive discomfort with the colonialist feel of his work feels pretty justified in retrospect.
Lovecraft’s face needs to not be on an award urgently, but Campbell’s name needs to go too. It’s time to move the awards for our genre into the 21st century.
