* Ghana has kindly agreed to be a staging ground for international food, medical, and specialist personnel intended to help the countries quarantined because of the ebola outbreak. This is a very important contribution, as most airlines and shipping companies are (understandably) unwilling to go into those countries right now, leading to massive shortages which is only making the epidemic worse. Meanwhile, the growing season has been heavily disrupted and the malaria season is about to start, both of which can only make things so much worse. hana is stepping up, even though they haven't the resources to provide the sort of relief needed themselves. It's now up to the rest of the world to fill the planes and airstrips in Ghana with people and supplies to save lives.

Doctors without borders is by far the most effective medical aid organization when it comes to ebola: https://donate.doctorswithoutborders.org/monthly.cfm?source=AZD140001D41&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=ppc&utm_campaign=PPC_DWB_Brand&utm_term=Doctors_Without_Borders

* Because the woman didn't specifically use the word "assault" when reporting a violent racially motivated attack with death threats, the police want to remind you they were completely justified in stopping for 45 minutes for bagels instead of coming to help her or hurry to arrest her white assailant for the 56th time on assault charges. After all, which is more important, a snack or getting an extremely dangerous white man off the streets before he killed someone? The snack. Obviously. "How NYPD responded to report of an attack:"

* Today was exhausting. I was scheduled to be short sleeped, which never helps, but at least they didn't start third phase of ripping our walls out, which would have made it worse. I had a rip your heart out of your chest sort of dream, TW: ), and so woke with a belly clenched with loss. Then it was a bunch of things needing doing quick before I left for a round of exhausting things needing doing. Luckily, it was the sort of day when the timing lines up eerily well, from stop lights to no lines. It really helped, as I simply didn't have a lot of pain resistance for hours of waiting. I even managed to squeeze in to optionals as I had an hour between two time dependent errands and a doctor's appointment. (I had a coupon for a free double dip waffle cone at Mallard and got Assam and coconut chunk, and there was a parking space right in front of the good used book store where I had a $40+ dollar credit. They did not have either of the books I was looking for, but I found three I'm pretty excited about. I still have about 13+ credit left, but I did not have any more time). I forgot to pick up my meds after the Doctor, and was too tired to go back, as I still had the library and the dollar store to hit. The dollar store solved a number of problems for under ten dollars, which was a huge help.

Tomorrow will likely be bad, as it's short sleeped again, plus demoralizing in person bureaucracy on top. I got my papers in order Sunday, and can only hope squirrel has his in time for me to take.

I still owe tarot and ought to do another ebay round.
