* In Odessa in the West of Ukraine police have burned forty pro-Russians in fire, even as people were dying in fighting in the East. Meanwhile, Europe dithers as many of the countries rely on Russian oil even as what Russia in the Ukraine is doing is scary for pretty obvious reasons, and the international oil companies politic on Russia's side.

* Protests in Nigeria continue as the government yet again fails to find the kidnapped school girls. The number of girls that were taken appears to have been revised upward to 300+. The Nigerian president and his wife want everyone to know that they are the real victims here and the families demanding return of their girls are the bad guys for making the President and Nigeria look bad. President Goodluck Johnson claims that the grieving and frustrated families are terrorists who did this to their children to hurt him. Riiiiight. For some reason this has not made the families of the missing girls less angry at the government. The leader of the kidnappers says "I sell the girls."

The death toll in the Islamic extremist insurgency is in the area of 1500.
