* Please, pay attention to severe weather warnings. If they say not to travel? Don't travel. I'd like to remind people that it's a good idea to have emergency food, water, and blankets in your car if you are traveling in snow, especially if you are traveling long distances in areas with low population. * TW: Rape, Rape Culture. A judge in the sex crimes court in India acquitted a man of rape because he offered to marry her before he forced her. It is the 21st century and this man is give the job of judging rape cases.

* Police in Cambodia opened fire on workers for daring to demand a minimum monthly wage of $160.00. Four are dead, and it looks like the strike is broken.

* Things are seriously crumbling in Iraq. The fact that it was expected doesn't make it any less horrible.

* Rumor Control: It turns out that reports of Kim Jong-un feeding his naked uncle to dogs originated in the Chinese equivalent of the Onion. A satirical post on a humor blog got picked up accidentally by a legitimate news source and it spread from there.

* House Republicans are so lazy that they plan to only work 112 days this year.

* Every time I hear Republicans demanding the States use their "right of nullification" I picture President Lincoln sinning in his grave. How is it possible that so many Republicans of all people have never heard of the Civil war?

* It turns out I'm not the only one who disagrees with Rand Paul's fantasy that making people homeless "is doing them a favor" by somehow making it easier and not harder to find a job. ":"
