* House Republicans continue to use "job creation" as code for "banning abortion." Why can't they just be honest and admit that banning abortion does not create jobs? Tuesday's attempt to make it so they can investigate the reasons for aevery single abortion and imprison Doctors if they can't answer to republican satisfaction was framed as "job creation." It's not. Please stop lying about it.

* Speaking of lies, Romney is still out telling the lie that the President promised 6% unemployment figures by this point. Neither the President nor his spokespeople said that. The non-partisan CBO estimated unemployment a little below 8% if the full stimulus passed, which it didn't. CBO estimates based on legislation that got dramatically changed so as to be less effective by republicans does not constitute a promise by the President. why won't Mitt Romney stop lying about things that are proven facts? why don't reporters call him on it every time he does it?

* Zimmerman's bail has been revoked because they lied about their assets. The judge was not amused. BTW, this is the same judge they will have their "Stand your Ground" hearing in front of.

The current drought in the Horn of Africa is the worst in 60 years. Between 11 and 13 million people in Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia and Djibouti are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. Tens of thousands of people walk for days headed to refugee camps only to die of thirst and hunger. Mothers have to choose which of their children will live, babies are born only to be left to die, women are at higher risk for sexual assault, and the instability of the famine only exacerbates existing political tensions and violence. To make matters worse there's no rain forecast until September, leaving millions of people hanging on for dear life.
