* I keep wanting to make experimental pie. I even picked up a key ingredient Thursday, but still haven't recovered enough for serious cooking. It also doesn't help that I'm week two into struggling to find food that doesn't make me sick, and the going to bed early Thursday messed up my anti-nausea drug schedule and I spent Friday swinging wildly between extreme nausea and so hungry I couldn't bear it. It's so easy to forget how crippling the nausea is without drugs when I have the med schedule working right. I suppose I'm lucky the drugs research has come so far in the last couple decades.

* We went to bed early again last night and I ended up petting Mache for hours, until I hurt to much to go on. (The boys got pettins too, but they wanted shorter pets). We watched some Glee and I finished Snuff. Of course I'm getting much less done than I ought, but there isn't much for it. Monday they come to fix the leak, so I need to clear the way for the workmen tomorrow and lock the four littles in with me when I go to bed. I'm still clearly failing to fight off the bus pathogen, I smell sick, have noenergy, and can't sit up and concetrate at the same time, while also dealing with a variety of physical inconvieniences that go with being sick. If I seem scattered that's why.

The cats have been pretty low drama the last couple weeks, though the Butt has been picking fights in no conflict zones my trying to force cats who don't want to cuddle to cuddle or prodding them with nose and paws while they are trying to sleep. I'm siding with the aggrieved parties here, as it's clear to me, the Butt is hoping that hassling people without attacking them will prove to be a loophole in the non-competition rule. I'm trying to make clear it's not.

* I keep dreaming about France.

* Just a reminder: I do not speak for all transdom or all queerdom. My opinions are my own, and as I'm a tiny sliver of a tiny sliver of a tiny sliver of a small minority, all sorts of things can't come even close to generalizing.

* I think rm put a finger on part of why I'm having trouble with Glee. "We don’t know what type of story it is, so things happen and we don’t know whether the show is showing them as acceptable or unacceptable or just reporting the news, as it were, in a fictional context." I'll give you the link for reference: http://lettersfromtitan.tumblr.com/post/16968815581/you-made-an-interesting-quote-in-a-recent-post-glee

Anyway, I made it through Regionals. I got to hear what all the voices sound like. I'm still getting whole episodes that are like puling teeth for me. I do not like embarrassment humor and I frequently want to smack nearly all the characters silly. (Funk episode, I'm looking at you). There are scenes here and there that a absolutely love. (Basement scene where I discovered why everyone thinks Burt Hummel is awesome, I am looking at you. Seriously, even as someone with a low drama coming out and text book excellent family support, a scene like that is water in the desert. I can only imagine what it must be like for folks who weren't that kind of lucky). Just generally, they keep doing this mix of fabulous and fail that is like bugs under the skin. I do see an upward trend as the season progressed, and having rm's complementary about the underworld and fairy land in my head, along with the gender stuff, touch/no touch, etc., certainly makes it more interesting than it was without them.. I've decided to keep going until they get to the interesting bits. I don't think I'm ever going to love this show the way everyone else seems to, but it is giving me gradually more things to work with.

The queue for season 2, vol. 1 is thirty people long, so it'll be a while before I need to wrestle with more of it.

* So what's the deal with me and spoilers? Y'all know ho vehemently "mark your spoilers" I am, yet here I've been reading rm's discussion of things seasons ahead? The thing is, I want to nothing about the contents of things I'm pretty sure I'll like and know I want to see. When it's something I'm on the fence about, I read reviews, often specifically for spoilers that will tell me if I'm gong hate (I wish I'd done this for Troy. Do not get me started on Troy.) or find things full of triggers. I also read spoilers for things I'm not interested in, if the analysis is up my ally, hence me reading box_in_box skewering Spider Man comics I'd pay money not to read or rm's complex dissections of the bits of Glee that are interesting, and my finally giving in and slogging through the rest to see the sections under discussion so I can play with them myself.

* It warms my heart that the Kevin Keller mini-series is the first time the Archie franchise needed to do a second print in 70 years. Speaking of gay comic characters, do any of you who follow superhero comics have an opinion on the Teen Titan Bunker? He sounds cool, but the shoot outs to Northstar in the press make me leery.

Yes, it has nipples: http://gofugyourself.com/nrj-music-awards-fugs-fabs-and-wtf-my-eyyyyyesss-02-2012/nrj-cannes-arrivals-2-290112-2

For the record, Grace Jones' breastplates were metallic and actually looked good instead of creepy and unnervingly like dead flesh. Yes, some of them also had nipples. I know a lot of you are too young to remember when she was a phenomenon, but google image her. She had this high fashion androgynous warrior woman thing going on that fascinated me when I was growing up. I loved watching her on talk shows being gloriously different and utterly herself. I'm fairly sure she influenced me to start thinking of my life as a form of performance art. She's hard to explain to someone who wasn't there. She was an original and beautiful in ways I still have no words for. Yes, I know she's still out there doing her thing, but when was the last time you saw her in TV or the movies? That makes me sad.
