* It's hard to watch the footage from Libya. One moment, it's cheering crowds in a liberated city, the next it's terrified phone correspondents in Tripoli over shots of dead protesters and fires. One wants to cheer for the newly free, but it's hard to be happy when so many are dead or dieing in the places where the mercenaries run, shooting any civilian they see. I hope it's over soon, because the sooner Tripoli falls, the sooner the government's massacre of civilians will stop.

* Apparently it's mostly just the Us having trouble evacuating citizens from Libya, mostly because the state department collected them in Tripoli, so they got trapped in the most dangerous city when their air reservations weren't honored.

* Gadhafi's latest speech was to bizarre for me to properly explain or summarize, it did include specific threats against unsanctioned journalists.

* And this week's lack of self awareness award goes to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, for his speech condemning Gadhafi for firing on his own people. O.o

* The Space Shuttle discovery has lifted off on it's final flight. Y'all know how I feel about that.

* Protests in Wisconsin have spread to 18 towns and cities. 61% of people in Wisconsin are against stripping collective bargaining rights from unions. Democrats are still holding out. Given Walker's willingness to use dirty tricks, I have no hope he will change his mind, especially as he's still claiming his position is backed by the majority despite all evidence to the contrary. I don't think this will end well, but each day they hold out is more than I expected.

* The new Republican budget is projected to slow growth by 2% of the GDP, according to Goldman Sachs. Jobs, jobs, jobs, my ass.

* Neo-prodigy found, a mock of Katy Perry's mercenary bi for pay song: http://uryel.tumblr.com/post/3481302462/nom-chompsky-karen-gillan-tearing-katy-perry-to

* I know this is superficial, but Augustin Goolsbee's voice always startles me. I have no idea how I expect him to sound, but I spend the first minute or two just trying to adjust.

* I think this dress is stunning: http://cdn03.cdn.gofugyourself.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/naeemkhan109243396-419x644.jpg

* Why I'll never understand high fashion exhibit... is this five? I've lost count: http://cdn02.cdn.gofugyourself.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/theblonds109215881-419x642.jpg

* I love the top comic of this set: http://beatonna.livejournal.com/145111.html
