* Friday was the new extra forage; today I went on a run to discount grocery, this being EBT day. I'm now allowed to double my dairy medically, instead of strict rationing and they have good cheese there cheap. Also they have things like half price frozen perogies and veggie pot stickers that are easy to make on my bad days, corn tortillas, and weird random bargains. Today's random bargains were extra good. They usually only carry the nasty super sweet ketchup, but today that had the delicious low sugar and sodium kind, which was on my grocery list, also the medium sized picante bottles, and I'm out of salsa and picante. They also had a new type of veggie meat at approximately half the price I'd expect of types I very much want.
I put everything away, made and ate dinner, did lungs, and realized, I should have done the inner Northern loop as I was out of two things I absolutely need that had to come from there. So back out into the heat at the time of day when the whole world shops for dinner. Sigh. I got my things and hit the farmer's market to see if they had discount full grown tomato plants, as the expensive grocery was selling 2 for 7 and i was betting I could get a better deal there, and also there, and also there were moldy cherries at forage yesterday which usually means fresh cherries at the farmer's market. Alas, it's too early for my beloved rainiers, but the bings were out in force, so I am snacking on cherries as I write this with the fan on full. I have a second tomato plant outside soaking up fresh water and the last of the sun with a small green tomato already on it. I am wrung out like a dish towel, but all but one of the essential foods for the month is in my larder.
