* Me: Why does Vine keep sendingme emails? Do they still exist? I never used there service....
Next Day: Oh, it's VINE (Victim notification from the prison system), not Vine the thingie where people posted video short shorts.

I don't get them that often, but every now and then, they move him to a different prison, but it's usually years in between. I'm mostly signed up so I know when he gets out. They gave him the maximum of 15 years for a single premeditated murder, but we're getting into the early release with good behavior. He showed real remorse, and clearly his refusal to use words instead of bullets ruined his life too. It's not like I think he'd kill again. I just like to know where he is nevertheless. Every time I get a notification, I'm distressed all over again at the stupidity of it all, at the pain and loss and damage he caused so many. The grief they bring is worth it though, as not knowing would be so much worse. Not knowing is always worse than knowing, in my experience, no matter how horrible the things to be known are. That's how my brain works. I'd have looked at the crime scene photos if they'd let me. My imagination can't be worse than the reality must have been.

This time they weren't moving him or anything. It was notifications about system outages, not anything relevant to our case. He's still tucked away the last place they sent him after his stint out on one of the islands.

The cherry blossoms are in their full glory in our neighborhood. I wish we could see some from my window.

* I'm up to six hours of sleep in three batches out of two sleep cycles. The headache is down from head being drilled open, to mind dulling throb. I am stupid and annoyingly emotional. I figured out part of the problem was I accidentally switched two pillows when I put the bed back together after the grand blerpfest a few days ago. The rest is assorted chronic illness things, and the way my sleep broke during the period when I was for real dying. (I was always insomniac back to at least when I was two, which when I have my first memory of it. Some sort of switch got flipped in my head when I was down to the 2-4 month's to live without surgical intervention point and instead of hitting a crash point about three days in, My body started doing things like a whole week in which I could sleep no more than half an hour in twenty for. The natural end point seemed to disappear. After they removed Herberton, our name for the tumor colony, I stopped getting the scary extreme insomnia, which we theorized might be some weird atavistic evolutionary thing better designed to keep and injured hunter gatherer crawling towards help than for my, very modern situation.) Anyway, it improved, but I don't hit the crash point like I did before that particular brush with death, and when it's like this, I bring out the big guns meds wise and reset my sleep. Only I couldn't because of obligations like Monday forage, and the things I was scheduled for tonight. I needed to take supplies (frozen forage meat Squirrel decided was too much and too daunting) North to some friend in exchange for a mini-fridge they no longer needed, but which Squirrel wanted and some paperwork for squirrel's truck). It was also fix it night, and I took the ten in again, this time to great success. I am too tired to migrate functions tonight, but I hope to be up to speed properly by the weekend. When I'm properly wound down, I'll go to bed and do the sleep reset.

This means odds are I'll be behind on computer things for a few days, given I didn't finish Monday's news what with the exhaustion and the blinding headache, and that I've lost most of tonight and may lose a chunk of tomorrow depending on how much sleep I manage. My appologies for those of you looking to me for headlines.

* I used all my money on housing and insurance last month, and this month it's all went to housing and car things. I need the car to get around as I am disabled. I need to raise about $400 to stay afloat. If you'd like to chip in: Paypal Lethran@gmail.com
