gwydionSquirrel is trying to arrange a local loaner, but no luck yet. I'm mostly trying to read the limited runs to see what should stay and what should go, and working on an art project. (Inking my second hand drawn deck, as I'm thinking about maybe switching some cards with my third hand drawn deck and then maybe drawing some new ones. I'm not up to drawing a forth deck at this stage of life, but replacing individual cards with updates, maybe, only even though the old deck mostly isn't where my head is anymore, I consider some of the ones from the early '90's to be be perfect for what they are. So many. I need to go through them properly, and inking them is the best way I know to get to know them again. It may be I can't use them at all, but I might want to model some new cards off them. Anyway. I inked about twenty last night.) The livingroom is now a mess of projects, but there are o0nly so many comics I can read in a day, especially as I'm spending my mornings under a pile of cats reading the first Rupert Everett autobiography. It's readable and has the same self mockery, but It's not as brilliant and literary as the second one (which I read first). It does give a bit of framework for the more episodic and witty meditation on death and change that is the second. You can really seen how much he's grown as a writer by the time he wrote the second one. I'm clearly going to HAVE to read the novels, even though they are earlier, because I just love his narrative voice. I know it won't be near as go0od as the forth book he published, but I am now intrigued.
Tavy is still having the occasional sneeze, but is recovered in every other respect. Alas, Livia started sneezing this morning. Let us hope she doesn't get near as ill.
I would like to thank benefactors who chipped in for car tax. Seriously, the kindness you've all exhibited in this emergency is astonishing. I hope to pay it Wednesday. As the property tax just came in Saturday, I promise the extra that came in will be going to that. (170.00). I can't do an auction without means of taking pictures, so that's right out unless a computer turns up that can do that, but I've time to raise the rest.
This is such a rough time of year.
I did get out to forage, which is good as I missed last week with all the emergencies, and turned out way early for my appointment. Alas, when they said they'd scheduled me for Monday, they meant the 5th, only I didn't realize. Embarrassing and annoying, especially as the tooth is worsening and definitely fucking with my sleep. Still, I've been in constant pain for thirty two years, it's not like I can't handle it. It's just I'd my heart setting on getting it drilled.
Anyway, I'm still here. I spent way too much time weeping over the ladies Singles Skates and the Closing ceremony. (That dandelion/turtle thing got me where I live). I admit, nothing will convince me Evgenia Medvedeva wasn't better, but the current rules absolutely favor Alina Zagitova, who is also a wonder, it'[s just my old school tastes favor Evgenia who's skating is the most exquisite thing I've ever seen a woman do on ice, much the way I feel about Hanyu at his best.
