* Look, y'all know I despise everything about 45, but I absolutely agree the Debt Ceiling needs to go and have been of that opinion for decades. It's not necessary. Sensible countries don't HAVE one. If Congress appropriates money, Treasury should just be allowed to raise it; if Congress doesn't WANT to spend the money, they shouldn't vote to appropriate it. The Debt Ceiling has always been an unnecessary step, but Republican Congress Critters not bright enough to understand that refusing to pay your credit card bill does not mean you haven't spent the money and only makes things dramatically worse rather quickly has turned it into an endlessly recurring crisis for most of my adult life. Removing the step removes the source of economic instability with no down side.

* The smoke is still an issue today, but less extreme, and the temperature being reasonable really helps. I am still getting that delightful stabbed in the back feeling when I move, and my lungs are not great, but I'm actually functional. I dragged myself out on time for the car appointment. it went so fast my tea didn't have time to cool enough to drink. There is a suspicion a bolt might need replacing. I am to bring it back if the chittering starts again. Bolt replacement will be free if so, because Honest Mechanic is a superstar. I forgot to ask about the engine light, alas. I am still quietly panicking about bills, but I am not convinced I'm well enough to do ebay without error, so I'll likely hold another day at least until I'm struggling less with things like breathing.
