* At 12:01AM, I watched the live telecast of two women, who had been together 30 years, get their marriage licence, followed quickly by two men in suits. People were waiting up to eight hours in the cold for the doors to open. I think it's wrong that it's not everyone everywhere getting their marriage rights. I think it's wrong that we are putting the basic civil rights of a minority to a majority vote. Still, I wept like a baby watching all those people waiting in line, holding hands as they waited their turns. How could I not? It's one more step towards full citizenship for my people; one more step towards freedom and justice for all.
* Rick "frothy residue Santorum has been out spreading santorum again. This time he is telling lies bout the treaty to protect folks with disabilities internationally. I assume he is telling all these lies because the republican position is completely indefensible. all the treaty does is spread the freedoms people with disabilities have in this country to people with disabilities in other countries. Still the Rick Santorum is strongly in favor of cruelty and inequality just generally, so this is in keeping with his overall beliefs that only white able bodied straight cis men are fully human and deserve basic civil rights and to be treated with even a minimum of respect. Fuck you, Rick Santorum. You have a child with disabilities! How can you love your own child so little?
* On the Republican choice to shame Bob Dole and insult him to his face by taking a symbolic stand against accessibility for the disabled.

* I'm having a terrible week from a physical perspective. This happens. I wake up exhausted and in pain with little in the way of spoons and legs that really aren't on board with the walking or accomplishing things agenda. I deliberately live in a very temperate part of my country with long spring and Autumn and short Summer and Winter. I do best with slow barometric change, fairly even temperature, and few extremes on either end. Real Winter really only started Monday here. My body doesn't approve. Not even a little.
Still, I had a Doctor's appointment today, so out I went into the cold with a cutting wind blowing in off the bay, on a day when I'm falling over a lot because that's what happens when I'm in this kind of pain. Good news: all of my organs are working. Bad news: my current dose of hormones is too high, but the next lowest dose is too low, meaning my immune system tries to eat my genitals. (This is even more unpleasant than it sounds). An in between dose is too hard to accurately measure, so we're going to have to fuck around with frequency.
The library was literally closing as I pulled up, the appointment was so long. Then there was a huge amout of standing about in the cold, quietly losing control of my legs. Then there was trying to get a few key groceries, one of which they moved for something like the third time in a year. I checked all the old locations, but no dice and no employees to ask for a map to the new hiding place. They had locked the bathrooms for the night also. Of course. At least the Pharmacy was properly manned and someone could help me find the new thing I'm supposed to try. There was no chance of me searching the store on my own. It was at this point the oil light came on in the car, but of course it was too late to get help with that. I had hardly anything left at this point, so I spent yet more money I shouldn't be spending for take out Thai on the grounds that it was a block from home and there was open handicapped parking. Of course I had to fights the boy cats for every bite as they are convinced they want extremely hot Thai food, despite it being spicy, vegetarian, and potentially poisonous to cats. The perishables stayed out for literally hours, as I used the last spoon on feeding cats and fish. I had hoped warm food and a rest would earn me back a spoon, but I'm simply not that lucky this week.
All I want to do is go back to bed, but somehow, the groceries need to get put away. This is what my life is like these days. Martial Arts six nights a week feels like centuries go.
